Each or a pair?

B&O pricelists always show the price of ONE Beolab.

Not in Sweden. The price given are for two speakers, unless it is a solo speaker.
With "price given" I dont talk about BL90. I mean in general.
Millemissen:No plans for that - not that I know of. I guess they will keep it, as long as it sells ok. MM There is a tv - and there is a BV.

The bl5 is now an affordable speaker
What a concept eh?
I'm sure that'll be just the argument to get my wife on board...
Jeff
I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.

seethroughyou:What will become of the BL5 - is this end of line then?
mjmedlo:Get ready... I hear it's unbelievable!!
BeoBoy68:I am ready to hear it ! I hope the price is justified. Kef Muon aluminium State of Art

It must be a very white speaker:
www.beolab90.com
This domain has been booked by a dealer in Berlin. No content yet ...
The new speaker is tricky to describe, both visually and the performance. I do hope that B&O will offer a tour, making it possible for all dealers to do a full nights demo in their neck of the woods.
If you think of the BL5 as a Porsche 911, then the new BL would be a Porsche 918. It is as different as it can be, and still the same. In the sweet spot mode, they will just blow you away with a sound reproduction that must be unique and (quite frankly) unbelivable.
The price will most likely be 34.995€ (=€70k for a pair). They will make 50 pairs (initial plan?). Could be launched on Oct 6th...

we tend to forget there is more to design than designing.
Made in Denmark - YES! Somebody seems to understand, finally! :-)I'm very excited to see and hear them! Now no more discussion about the Beolab 5:"Don't look angry, darling, these where a bargain!"

The speaker: Now you are warned - it is huge!
The launch: Some speak of Oct 6th (that is what I heard too) - others speak of mid-november (at the actual date of the 90th birthsday).
They probably even haven't decided yet.
Only very few dealers will have it on display - even in Denmark.

Shouldn't that be the Beolab 45?

Had a lovely few days in Budapest.
Obviously can't reveal anything about the new speakers, but can assure you all that they will be worth the wait.
Sound is astonishing and they look great too!
Come on sheffield, we say nothing!
seethroughyou: Other options include PsI or Genelec studio monitors which are a bargain in comparison and with soft room EQ it might do the trick
I wonder, how you can say so, when you haven't experienced them yet.
The named speakers may be good, but as long as I haven't heard the BL90 in action, I'd rather say nothing.
Personally I will never be able to buy such expensive speakers - and I don't have a room, that is 'fit for these', anyway.
What should be interesting to me (and probably to most of us) is, if (and how) the technology used in the BL90's and the knowhow, that the guys in the 'acoustic depths' in Struer have gained making it, will somehow be available in future speakers.
I imagine, that this is the first one of a new generation BeoLab.
Barry Santini:Good speakers, like BL5; BL5000, Penta, dont go out of style/technology like TVs today. The BL90 will be worth it! B

seethroughyou:I have experienced the PsI and Genelec's - of course I can say so. These speakers will in no way match any of the Beolabs or the new Beolab in aesthetics but I am saying from experience that the PsIs and Genelec's were brilliant sounding and better than the BL5 in terms of sound which I owned but that's my ears and taste. Others will disagree. I don't just buy for sound - I love the whole package that Bang Olufsen gives but I found the BL5 fell short to my ears in several aspects but I still regard them as a special product.
seethroughyou:Yes. I remember the first time I heard them I was deeply impressed by the crispness and control of the top end and the same control and precision in the bass. It was a special feeling walking around the room and hearing that clearly no matter where you stood. An unforgettable experience.
Peter Pan:
No way!
Dave Farr:Utter rubbish! Why replace what is still an outstanding speaker because it is 12 years old? It still out performs most of what is out there and still sells. I look forward to 12 years time to see if the French speaker version of the Dyson is still selling. Dave.
The BeoLab 5 is still an outstanding speaker and there are no plans to discontinue the model.
I sold a pair yesterday to a new customer that thought they represented great value against the opposition...
