Which one did you buy? And what will it do?
I`m using the TT-238 since years , it`s a great product. Connected to my BV7 cinema control - works via digital inputs.
A second one is working in the bedroom of my son. The TT-238 controls a wild mix of Beo- and non Beo-devices like a BM4500 with BG4500, a Digiality-box, Samsung Monitor, X-Box....
A third one is for spare, testing new products in the house, that has no puc control. Therefore I`m using the "scart solution".
Relay 108 controls fourteen Somfy 24V blinds via mlgw/RS232, and a few weeks ago, I received the new LIN-433 to integrate the RF security system with RF keyremotes.
Michaels (Lindgaard) support is simply great.
It will take some time to get used to the Lintronic programming, but it`s also a lot of fun...:)

I've been using Lintronic code-converters for years to fill in what might be missing from the PUC. You can also program one of their code-converters to connect to your BeoSystem or B&O TV to act upon the CINEMA trigger to send out IR commands when you go into CINEMA mode and to send out other IR commands when you go out of CINEMA mode. This takes a bit of work since you have to create the cable to connect to the BeoSystem/TV. Michael at Lintronic is very fast in personally responding to emails for help. However, he rarely tells you exactly how to do something. Rather, he points you to one of the documented resources on his website -- which can be rather hard to understand and you really have to read the entire thing very carefully. Also, the website is very confusing to navigate to find exactly what you're looking for. Once you get it working, though, it works exactly as it should.
I've been using them for years now. Started out with a TT238 but switched a few months ago to the new version, LIN-433 get support for 433MHz radio as well. Works just great.
Controlling my Sony TV, AppleTV, Set-top box, Bluray player along with B&O audio system with just a Beo4. With the addidion of the LIN-433 I now control all NEXA switches as well.
It's a very powerful system and I love it, not that difficult to get started but it takes a bit of thinking to really get the most of the features.
The support is top-notch I think but it's recommended to read through the documentation first. I do agree that the website could use a bit clean up.

I have a Sony TV connected to a BeoLink Converter that is connected via ML to a Beosound 3000. That setup works just fine. Press TV and everything is up and running! :-)
and the TV sound comes through the active kit?
via the ML or are you running something 'out' of the sony tv

lonfred:Does the Lin-433 has strong RF transmitter? I have a couple of nexa wrr-1 relays on my second floor that I would like to control by my MLGW. Today I use a weak Nexa transmitter and sometimes the signals from this is not strong enough.
I haven't done any scientific tests but it seems to be more powerful than the normal nexa transmitters at least in my house

I don't use the active kit, I use the Beolink Converter instead, the MCL/ML converter that is. The audio signal comes out of the Sony TV via RCA to the active kit and then from there over ML to the Beosound. The speakers are connected to the Beosound.
My concern is the cabling from the lintronic to the NL/ML converter; that particular eye requires an rj45 connection;
I'll be required to go in to the Lintronic from the eye receiver supplied with their package and then extend
the connection/commands on over to the converter after that.
I want to be able to control a cable box with the intronic as well. I wonder if "TV" can both send the power command

I`m not quite sure, but I think you can use the IR transmitting outputs to wire the IR input of an active kit or converter. Though you will need a special cable with an RJ45 plug.

Yes. You can program macros for every command. Lintronic works the same way Beo does. You have modes and commands.
Mode is for example TV, command is a number (0-9), the color buttons, arrows left right, up-down....
So pressing TV can execute an action that will start up your panel and the cable box. Now pressing the green button (for example in TV mode) can activate the program guide in your cable. So you can map all Beo4 commands (in TV mode) to your cable box and all commands (for example in DVD mode) to your BR player..... There are sometimes problems with hold commands like volume up/down, just test it. But won`t be a problem, if you use a Beo-amp...:)
Also it might be a bit tricky to handle toggle commands like Power on many Hifi products. Beo4/5/6 wants to activate a device by pressing the source (TV, DVD, CD, RADIO....) and set the product, amp and speakers to standby pressing the red button (stdby button).
In this case "Variables" are a very useful tool.

I'm interested in this also - I read on the lintronic website that you can connect a cable (RS232?) from their box to a 3rd party TV. I understand that this would go into a socket marked 'service' on my samsung tv. So that's all straightforward.
Does anyone know if the programming for that gets done purely in the lintronic box/programme or is there something that needs to be done in the samsung tv?
I guess I could leave to lintronic box out of the cabinet and just use the external ir from the lintronic box which might well be easier.
I'm trying to work out whether to go this route or whether to get a programmable remote which might do the job. The only issue I have is that the BO overture would behind me when watching tv/playing sound through the BO speakers adjacent to the tv, so I suspect that a programmable remote wouldn't work as I'd be pointing it the wrong way, so the Lintronic box seems a good solution.

The Lintronic's IR transmitter is VERY powerful, I have my box semi-hidden and it still controls my Sony TV from angles and distances that the original Sony remote can't handle. I used to wire up the IR transmitter for each device but I've found that to be completely pointless, the transmitter is just that good. For the units hidden in a cupboard I still have it wired of course.
If the RS-232 port of the TV is active and supported then it should all be handled in the Lintronic box.
Works just fine on my machine.
If you're using that USB-RS232 cable make sure not to use the latest driver since it doesn't work.
Google it and you'll find some more info.
I tried it with another USB to RS232 cable also; still no luck

Which converter have you bought? TT-238 - LIN-433?
If LIN-433 did you also get the ComCab04?
Does the configurator detect the converter?
Is the driver installed/working ?
Did you try the "usb detect" procedere?
I`m using the cofigurator with Windows 8 via Parallels on my macbook - works fine with TT-238 and LIN-433 (after some trouble shooting!).
Do you use infrared-emitters actually or just the control-output with a stereo-jack on both ends?If you use infrared-emitters: Use your phone's camera to check if they are actually emitting infrared light!
I am using the emitters;
they work correctly for the panel I've connected, and the front of the lintronic sends out the commands when I test it;
the problem is when i try to use the beo4 to trigger the command; I am unable to produce any result;
I'm hoping Michael can help me fix this problem
Hello, I have problems with my TT238 HW5.1 on Windows 8, 64bit.I can not connect the device anymore on my stationary PC. I managed to to a firmware update which I guess was a dumb decision ;-)Now, it doesn't connect. On the mobile PC it connects but when I try to learn a remote the decoding window pops up every 2 seconds without any remote in front of the TT238. I've read that there was some Windows 8 issue here in this thread. Maybe somebody could clear up the topic.

If you use the "New Function" menu item to add commands from a remote that are not in the list you can save the function and edit the name, e.g you rename "new function" in the list after saving the command to "HDD playback". BUT: If you use the "new function" menu item again and save the command, the software deletes the newly registered name and every new saved item is called "new function" in the list. This is really bad as I can imagine that nobody wants to test 20 buttons on the remote to find out what every "new function" is. :-)

They didn't believe you?? What kind of arrogant customer service is this? In the past I had good experiences with Lintronic. I've sent a support request email this weekend... let's see if and when they reply. The database editing seems to be a great hint. Do you have to edit every new function entry or how does it work?

Update guys: Now it's over a month ago and I got NO support / answer from lintronic!Any alternatives to this company? Lousy / non existent customer service is a no go!
The answer generally is to use a raspberry Pi with LIRC for IR. Energenie have HATs that also handle RF. I've given up on Lintronic as the service was bad, the price was extortionate (I suppose it was a captive market), and now building my own. I use a raspberry to control (switch on and off) a TV for my Beosystem 3 via HDMI CEC and LIRC to handle the source boxes (AppleTV, Sky etc.). I've also integrated with the Amazon Alexa service for voice control (though use a MLGW to handle the commands)
Lintronic? I think they have had their day, and there are many other (cheaper) ways to solve integrations
Hi guys,does anybody have an older Firmware for the TT455-RT-238 on his PC? Maybe the misbehaviour is due to the latest firmware upgrade.Hopyfully you can downgrade that thing as there are many remotes I want to copy to the Beo 5...

Hello,yesterday I wrote an email to Lintronic asking about my support ticket from september. I had experienced good customer service from Lintronic in the past so I was wondering why there was no answer.
To my positive surprise: I've got a reply within 3 hours on a sunday! That was a good sign! Regarding my ticket it must have been a server problem so they didn't see it and therefore couldn't respond properly.Michael from Lintronic told me that he will help to solve my problem and I'm very happy to let you know about that! As soon as we have solved it, I'll update this thread again with detailed information as others might be interested if they have the same problem.@Paul: Thanks, that could be worth a try.
