Poor Lee - I sympathies with your shock even though I am not a car person (nor a watch person)
:-)
I was tempted to reply to MM's post with a picture of the original Benz (wheels, seats, steering mechanism (doesn't have to be a wheel could be a tiller))
:-D
but then I thought of my father-in-law's favorite quote from the life of Samual Johnson on the invention of the bicycle

Even though he owned a Riley that he loved tinkering with, at the end of the day even though he was a Prof of Transport Engineering, my FIL was of MM school: a car is only one of several tools to get you from A to B
So right now I am going to get out my shellac 78s and my hand cranked grammaphone and listen to real music

Well, maybe some day we will see a 'digital car' - whatever that may be.
With no wheels, no stearing wheel, no lights etc - but hopefully with a (or some) seats
A somewhat different vehicle as the ones, we now know.
I guess the design/the look of these will be different from the recent cars, because we will deal with them in another way.
That is exactly, what has happened to 'audiosystems' already - the change from analog/physical media to digital/remote media.
We deal with 'the audiosystem' in another way - and need another design, another interface.
No - I would not purchace one!!!

How about Ouverture with upright tangential vinyl player instead CD?
blah-blah and photographs as needed
I managed to find an early preview of the next "Designed by Beoworld" killer product.
I was told the ALTs will be motorized and the system will be hand made in Denmark by experienced artesans and craftsmen. The price will be slightly above a similarly specified Sanyo.

The next thing you know someone will propose wrapping a third party tablet in aluminium and claiming it is the future of audio management and control!
Ban boring signatures!

Don't be silly. A chopping board is the way to go.

Not quite - they still have wheels
"The BMW spokesman said: 'We are in regular talks with companies from the IT and telecommunications sector, including Apple, concerning topics like connected vehicles. Developing or building a car is not a topic of these discussions.'"
In other news, B&O are building a car in partnership with Apple. The car will have Harman Kardon audio. Steering and braking will be done with a Beoremote.

Chopping board....... or perhaps a throw-back to the wooden, square-edged side of the beolit 1000........
Yesterday I bought a set of BL17 and a BL19 and had a little chat with B&O technician who works with B&O products since 1979! Some of his words are below!
it is good to see that B&O invest new technologies for the future but they forget persent time! Most of the B&O customers or potential B&O customers these days over 40 and they are looking for CD/BlueRay players and B&O has nothing to offer them!
He said most of his customers can't manage to run with NAS etc. or they don't want to do it! They want to have simple system where to put cd/dvd in and press play.
He was also asking what is the matter to have a BeoOne remote to acces everywhere with one button but to buy a song need a computer/Time Capsule/NAS etc!
Perhaps this tells more about the seller as about his costumers!
There are still some dealers out there, who haven't realized that their costumers know more about modern technology than they do.
Tablets and smartphones are very common in the 'over 40' generation.
Maybe he would prefer to sell a CD/DVD player, because he himself can't manage a computer/NAS.
Maybe he should start learning - if he wants to stay in business.

Congrats on your new purchase, can you post pictures please. I've been contemplating setting up a music only listening area of my house, and rather than looking for bargain BL3/BL2 combination here in the states, I'm wondering if a 17/19 combination would do the trick.
I've yet to make it to the local B&O dealer for a sound test (don't need to for the Bl3/2 combo as I used to own one), but seeing one in someone's home would help :-)
Hi Sal,
I'm reconstructing my living room and bed room. I build a kitchen in my living room to use as a bar. So my beolab's has to move because I need the space for my bar. That's the reason I bought the BL17s.
Sorry for the untidiness
That's the picture of BV11, BL 19 and BL4000s in living room
That's the picture of BL17 and BL 5000 (not connected any more) in living room other side
That`s the bedroom set up Avant 55 and Beolab 18
That's kitchen set up BV 7-40, Beosound 5, Besound 9000, Beolab 4000s. Beolab 11
The distance between my TV and BL 17s are 12 meters. So my listening position is around 8 meters to BL17s. I'm satisfied with them If you ask me and they are very good on detailed sound.
BL 19 is something impressive. It lets me explore new things on my music.
Beopiranha,
Thanks for posting the pictures, although I can't see the complete photos you posted (the right sides are cut off), your place looks magnificent.
The black Beolab 17 looks very nice on the wall. If I do pull the trigger on the 17/19, they'll be in black.
Cheers!
I was looking for a solution but had no success.
Right click and save as... you can see all in full format.
I'll upload better pictures when I'll be finished with the reconstruction ;)
I think the way forward is with integration - if B&O build a BlueRay it will be outdated in a few years, probably outdated by the time it comes to market anyway, so better to be able to buy someone else's, hide it away and control it with your B&O remote. CD's are losing to internet music, Traditionally why people have bought B&O is to have easy access to music in an uncomplicated manner, and for some the ability to have it in every room.
Apple TV is a good example of just how easy it is to stream music, films and internet radio - and with a link system that tiny little box can be viewed in every room and control your music with your Beo4 so no need for the iPhone or tablet. If course it doesn't do everything, but then I dont think at this point there is a box that will do everything - i.e stream all channels and all music sources in high res. but it will come if they ever resolve licensing issues. So the way forward as I see it is to concentrate on brilliant speakers, innovative ways of streaming (like the essence) and high quality TV;s and integrate them all, not forgetting portable devices, earphones etc. Apple have long promised a new Apple TV and that has been delayed for years - with their resources what chance do B&O have in developing that type of product?
Personally I think they have got it right in what is a really difficult market. You can never please everyone anyway.
Hi, yss, if they could get the licensing issues resolved they would be onto a winner, i am also hoping for high res music from itunes,i suspect it will all happen in time and when i does will most likely give us nearly everything we could want, until then a lot of people are using mac mini's or streaming from computers, which sounds complicated to me but does give the functionality.
fingers crossed for june, imho the answer lies with Apple or anither third party building the product rather than B&O who are excellent at providing the audio, video and integration. For me i stream music via an airport exoress and have just added a DacMagic which has improved the sound massively comoared to the cheal DAC i was using, my logic being that the airport express can be changed cheaply when something better comes along, for video i use apple tv only as its in another room connected to a TV and the. Split to the tv and projector in the listening room. All of it can be controlled via Beo4 with minimal cables and it all works perfectly, the only thing i am missing is high res music, but happy with it all and it's all Relatively old b&o equipment. When a newer apple tv comes along and if it offers a load more then it can be easily integrated, again at a relatively small cost, same with phones that change and getter better all the time. Hopefully Apple will offer a one time payment to upgrade itunes libraries, but thats a long way off.

first - and more important move - would be to standart res music - like WiMP Premium/Tidal, Deezer Elite....
But we will probably just see a streaming service with file compressed music as with the iTunes downloads.
Nice for a lot of people and bad for Spotify and co.
And not really an improvement!
