As I was pondering over the 90 year anniversary celebrations, I realised that I have been part of the last 30 years. I found this old photo taken in the Plumbs store in Warrington.
How many old products can you identify? No prizes but can you guess what the small black box on the shelf to the left of the TV is?

I doff my cap to you Dave. It is indeed a lop amplifier. It was connected to the BeoVision 5502 on the shelf.

It was an inductive loop mechanism for amplifying your TV or audio for people wearing hearing aids:
