As I was pondering over the 90 year anniversary celebrations, I realised that I have been part of the last 30 years. I found this old photo taken in the Plumbs store in Warrington.

How many old products can you identify? No prizes but can you guess what the small black box on the shelf to the left of the TV is?

Thanks for sharing. The good old days.

The Sony music system looks crap compared to what's on the other side of the room !

Great photograph. Sadly it is long before my time!

I do own quite a few bits in there though!

Great picture and what a lot of products on display.  The black box looks like a 'Loop Amplifier' to me.

Dave.

I doff my cap to you Dave. It is indeed a lop amplifier. It was connected to the BeoVision 5502 on the shelf.

What did the loop amplifier do?

It was an inductive loop mechanism for amplifying your TV or audio for people wearing hearing aids:

Maybe that is the kind of gear we will need in the future - when 'heavy in-ear headphone users' will notice, what they have done to their hearing Embarrassed

MM

There is a tv - and there is a BV
