Hi,
I would like to change the speaker cloth on the front covers of my Penta's, but it seems to be difficult to find a shop where they sell this.
Online I found two webshops 'akustikstoff.com' and 'conrad.de' where they seem to have some choice. My problem is know what is the correct color for the Penta covers? On screen everything seems to be too light.

Does someone have an idea of what could be the correct color? Thanks!

It is very difficult to compare colours on a PC screen. I see from the store you linked to you can order a sample pack from them. It looks like it includes one of every colour so I would order a sample pack and that should help.
Looking at the screen samples I would think "12" or "13" but probably if there was a shade between those I'd say "12.5" .
With the PC screen I would say "12" is the nearest.
Good luck

Hi, have you ordered some ? Which is the nearest colour then ?
I have to rebuild my Penta mk2 cloth also…
Thanks
Good evening,
I have received my cloth from Akustikstoff, I chose the coulour "13", and here are the results :

The original cloth colour on the left is quite different from the new one on the right, but considering the original one is really old and dirty, it is difficult to compare; however the lining is different too but it should be OK when all frames are changed

What do you think?

Has anyone tried this kit?:https://www.quality-dream-audio.co.uk/speaker-recovering-kits-and-replacement-frets/penta-recovering-kit.html
I think it looks great. These fabric look better than the old ones.
Probably some purists will hate the "metallic" look. As far as I know, B&O never used fabrics with a metallic look.
But how did you fix the fabrics at the tray? Did you glue it?
Wow, great, I am using neoprene transparent glue and it's easy; but the top panel is way more complicated due to its curb; I don't know how to do it without cutting angles...
Thanks,
I did it with Velcro, also supplied by https://www.akustikstoff.com it is extremely thin therefor it works good with the small amount of space you have in the penta cover. they have a instruction video on youtube how to apply it.
Metallic is a specific range in there portfolio, i selected it knowing B&O used brushed stainless steel in order to make the Penta speaker blend in to there surroundings. By using Metallic Grey I wanted to extend this to the front
Reviving this old thread. I am in the US and recently acquired a pair of Mk1 Penta passives. Just redid the cones. The cone surround seller provided me with samples for speaker grille cloth, but none come close to the color of the originals. That said, what WAS the original color? I can't be certain that these haven't faded a bit over the last 35-ish years.
Thanks. Also looking for links for updated sources for the material.
te right colour is Dark grey, NOT blake
