Hello there,
I was wondering if anyone knows a non b&o universal remote that would be able to control my b&o system (avant and ouverture etc) and my projector, sky box, wii, ps3 etc?
I have been looking around and like the sounds of the remotes philips offer with macro functions like watch tv or watch movie or listen to cd but am unsure that it would support b&o too.
Your help will be much appreciated!
before I got the beo6 I had a Logitech Harmony One. Can control everything you mentioned including macros and the olufsen stuff and is way easier to program than the beo6.
Except that the Harmony is made of plastic I really loved it.
Before getting my Beo5 I used (& still do) Philips Pronto remotes. They can all control B&O and have excellent macro functions, but you are looking at the same sort of money as a good used Beo5/6 with the same amount of programming needed for either the Beo5/6 or the Philips Pronto.
Your PS3 is not fully controlable by any standard universal IR remote without a separate little converter box. (an IR remote will control many functions but you need a Bluetooth box to switch on/off and some other functions I believe) .
The Harmony remotes that miniac suggests are really good too and do B&O, they do macros (called something like "activities" or something) but again you need the Bluetooth for your PS3. Here is a site that deals a lot with Harmony.
I also came across this some time ago and it looks really neat and not too plasticky. there is some feedback here from a guy who bought one. It seems to do simple macros too. ( a web search can find them at a fairly reasonable price)

Looks like I will be getting the harmony one, looks aren't bad, does everything i want it too, and can get it for just under £100. What a bargain.
I was just looking on the compatibility website and for some weird reason, it will do the avant, a beocenter 2300, but not the ouverture, it says the frequency is too high, which is strange, as the other b&o devices I have use the same frequency. But hey, if it wont work, i'l just programme the remote for the beocenter which should still control the ouverture anyway.
Thanks Very much for your help.

Ok, i think i'll just continue to use the ps3 controller to use the ps3.
Thanks for your help.

Or get one of these if you go for the Harmony.

Nice! Thanks!
Ditto on the Logitech Harmony One. I did have to go back and forth with their tech support trying different files they prepared to finally get functionality but eventually did and they were very helpful. I still use it for my non B&O Video setup.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
I used the harmony with an Ouverture - and there was absolutely no problem.
