so my question is...would I do any damage to the unused channel if I only run one S80.2 speaker. If it's ok then do I adjust balance all the way to ch. with speaker. I only have one speaker at this time and very much want to use this system. Thanks

No problem at all, and you don't need to bother with the balance setting either.

You will of course only get one channel - if listening to the radio, this is not an issue as you can set it to FM Mono but using other sources will deprive you of one channel so will sound a bit odd!

Thanks Peter & tournedos. I was listening to RUSH last night and it sounded so GOOD! I'm so bummed out about the missing speaker. I can only imagine how good it will sound with both speakers. Still hopeful that it will turn up.
