Despite the financial troubles SAAB (Nevs) are still playing around with electric prototypes.

Since mid December Mahindra are rumoured as the most likely buyer for NEVS/SAAB. They are desperate to expand in Europe with a new SUV and are looking for a prestige name. In the meantime Saab AB have taken away the license for the name Saab to be used on cars. They will need convincing that Mahindra or whoever else may want the NEVS operation are really serious about quality car production before licensing the name again.
