Hi guys,
Overall I'm very satisfied with my 6 months old Avant, but I have some issues regarding the picture handling of the Avant, that maybe other owners can confirm or disconfirm.
Not sure if I have the right technical explanation, and it makes sense.
I know it sounds crazy and I'm pretty sure this issue hasen't been there all the time, but now I see it all the time, when you know what to look for.
So, if you have an Avant 55" like me, have you noticed the same or not?
Look forward to hear some reaction from you guys
Wow, not a single respond - for real or don't you dare..?
Michael from Sweden is the guy to speak to as he's had a lot of issues with his and also he has an incredible eye for detail!
Hi Paul, okay thanx a lot. How do I find him?

BeoFantast: Hi guys, Overall I'm very satisfied with my 6 months old Avant, but I have some issues regarding the picture handling of the Avant, that maybe other owners can confirm or disconfirm. If I change and store new picture settings on any source, they are all been reset after switching Avant on/off. Why are the settings not stored? Maybe it's me, but since the last firmware update back in june, I've noticed "ghost effect" around white subtitles with movement in the back (not the ones with black background) and people and other objects in bright light. This issue is to be seen on any source (cable tv, Netflix, iTunes etc.) Talked to my B&O dealer, who checked the information on the last firmware update and there isn't anything about changes made to the picture control. Not sure if I have the right technical explanation, and it makes sense. I know it sounds crazy and I'm pretty sure this issue hasen't been there all the time, but now I see it all the time, when you know what to look for. Oh heyyyy :-) I think i have had mine also 6 months and have had software update in that time. I haven't found any ghosting. The only issue i have had with the settings is although it says "adaptive" it doesn't really save. But saving is per source. I find i have "adaptive drama" - when i want it to just do the adaptive and change it all the time, and not have me do it . I get confused, and so i think i have to check the source because when i do save it, i think i'm not saving it properly.
Update to picture settings.
Try and change the value for viewing distance to Avant under picture (factory setting is 3,5 M on mine) the picture quality changes radical, when playing with this setting...
Have a go on your own Avant.
Will play around with mine to see if I notice any difference. Did it improve the "ghosting" you were describing?
Not quite sure yet, have to look closer on the "new" setting. I'm also in contact with B&O and looked on two other Avant 55" in store with the same issues as mine.
Stay tuned...
New Avant software update 14. september, but what does it do..?
A change back to better motion handling like before, perhaps...
Anyone with more info.
Regarding the new sw:
They have solved reported issues related to no sound at start-up, dropout in the wireless speaker connection and the issue where multiroom products were unable to discover each other (=no sound distribution). Not sure why the distribution is limited to the Nordic countries (compared to Scandinavia or Europe only) for this week - might be because they want to test it here first... Global launch is set to Sept 21st.
