I cannot see that the Beomusic app has been updated. Still same version (Jan 2015) at App Store.

I came here to Beoworld in a rush from Engadget to get the "real" scoop only to find a link back to Engadget.
Help! I'm caught in some sort of IO loop. Need more input!!! Please make the nightmare stop!
Millemissen: BeoLink Multiroom Whitepaper: http://www.flatpanels.dk/downloads/BeoLinkMultiroomWhitePaper.pdf MM
The Whitepaper makes it almost looks like the possibility of introducing a 2nd audio master when it mentions a CD from a dining room BS9000 being able to link into another rooms.
I'm probably being optimistic but I keep dreaming of integrating my 6500 turntable system without it having to be the audio master in my living room.
In the white paper it says... "Your beloved BeoSound 9000 6-CD player, from 1994"
How can they not know in a B&O paper that it was first introduced in 1996!!! Seriously, who proof reads something as important as that?

NL means no MASTER - slave as known in ML

If that is your only thing to 'complain' about.....
Seriously - how important is that 🙀

mjmedlo:ML products won't appear unless connected through BLC. And then only the BLC with connected speakers appears. .... this is designed to spread music throughout the home. IE with the moment.

No - I don't think so - because there is no NL-(network) in that case.
Adding a second NL-product would be necessary - in my understanding.
If it can combine the best of both worlds (NL and ML products) that would be great. The link to Engadget shows again their lousy journalism work: I guess Bang & Olufsen was one of the FIRST companies that introduced multiroom audio and not the last... so many people seem so uninformed nowadays it's unbelievable*. *edited with no specific nation in mind.

That was in the mid-1980'es - looong before ANYONE in the A/V-world could even imagine how you can network audio products.
P.S. As for the mentioning of the americans etc - no comments from me there 😽

Are you saying that you have TWO converters, thereby allowing you to control both s BeoSound 5 AND another audio master that can control a BeoGram turntable??

Carolpa: Correct me if I'm wrong but BS4 + BLC makes 2 NL product. The BS4 must be on or in a higher standby fase to been seen on the app

BS4 is a Masterlink product, and is connected with Masterlink to BLC. So no NL network.

This is HUGE and probably worthy of its own thread. The ability to bring back datalink control of B&O turntables and cassette players while having non-data link products controlled is something many of us have being trying to achieve. Paying $1000 for an extra, second BLC to achieve this is a bit steep, but it opens up that capability.

lano: Hiort: BS4 is a Masterlink product, and is connected with Masterlink to BLC. So no NL network. BS4 = Beosystem4 in this case. The app just keep on searching. Sometimes it shows the BLC and BS4 in horizontal mode but then it continue to search?

not sure, that you can call the BLC a NL-product.
It is a bridge between NL-procts and ML-products.

I am sorry for not understanding this. I think I am correct in understanding that the Net Link converter allows newer Net link products to function along with older Masterlink as one system.
You mention you are running a BS5. Are you able to control the BS5 with the new BeoMusic App? If so, what sort of control, limited? Full? Cover art in the app?
I have a BV7-55 and BV10 connected to each other and a BS5 by Masterlink. I also have a stand alone V1. My understanding is the Net Link converter is of no use to me unless a buy a Moment or other Net Link product. Or, would a Net Link converter added to the Masterlink system allow me to control the BS5 from the Beomusic app?
Thanks.

Unfortunally I can not controll the BS5 itself with the BeoMusic app (there for I use Beolink instead) What I (tried to) indicate that I have a NL setup, 2 BV, 3BLC & a Moment. 2 BLC have a ML audio master contected to it. On one this is the BS5 on the other a BS3000. Now in the NL I can start the BS5 and the BS3000 and do the basic things (play, pause, skip, previous, next, volume, etc).and JOIN
Until I had the beta BeoMusic app I used the BS5 to distribute Music throughout the house. Now with the new BeoMusic app I solemnly use the Moment. iPhone or iPad within reach and you have full controll of your complete collection and system.
To integrate NL and ML products you will need a BLC. If you have only ML products you will have no additional benefit from it. You could opt for a Beolink Gateway. Than you have controll over your music collection on the BS5 (through the Beolink app)

lonfred:Hopefully BO verry soon will integrate all BLGW functions in the Beomusic app or the opposit, I do not understad the benefit with two different apps.
I'm fascinated by this new capability of re-integrating datalink products. It sounds like you now have separate ML networks, one for each audio master, both connected to the NL network. It sounds like control is there from the NL. However, do you now have control of one ML audio master from the 2nd audio master? It would seem likely since the BLC is remapping the B&O sources. It sounds like the important factor would be for each ML master to have the needed audio source as one of the audio sources that it has available. This is what I'm picturing:
Audiomaster 1 = BeoSound 5 (set as audio master), connected to a BeoSystem 3 and its speakers
N. RADIO (PHONO) is available as a source since in my case I have the internet radio stations controlled by the RADIO command.
Link rooms have 2 Beolab 3500 speakers, BeoLab 2000, a BeoVision 10, and a BeoVision 4 as a link room tv.
This audiomaster 1 would be connected to BLC #1 with N.RADIO mapped still as N.RADIO
Audiomaster 2 = BeoSystem 4500 with turntable, connected to a ML/MLC BeoLink Converter (not to be confused with the new BL/NL Converter) connected to BL/NL Converter #2
The turntable as N. RADIO (PHONO) is still mapped last N.RADIO
Would I then be able to get the sound of the turntable in the link rooms (which are connected to the BeoSound 5 ML and not the BeoSystem 4500 ML) and control it using datalink from the link rooms?
Would I necessarily need a NL product in between the two BL Converters (since I really don't have a current desire for a NL product)? Or could I merely connect the two BL Converters with a CAT 6 cable? I know that this is a rather expensive solution to bring back control of a B&O datalink turntable at $2000 for two BL Converters. Still, I find the concept intriguing.
