Hi, I have a BV7-32 MKIII without HDMI connections, and I would like to connect HD (ready) sources. I have one connected to the DVI, and one to the component connection. I would like to connect a third HDMI source, and I found this box to convert HMDI to SDI signal. I know this is a ridiculously expensive box, but just as a thought, would this add an extra 1080i source to the TV?
And if so, would it be possible to send this source over ML and get HD reception in link room Beovisions? Or would it still be only Video quality?
I am probably not going down this path, since buying a HDMI switch is cheaper, but if anyone has tried this I would like to hear their experience.
Beosound 5 Encore + Beosystem 5500 + S45.2; BV7-40 MKV + BL7.1 + BL14.4+ AppleTV4; various link rooms with MCL2 A or MCL2 A/V + RL60.2 / CX100 / CX50 & Cona / IWS2000; BG4000; Beosystem 1200 + BV1600.
SDI is a baseband serial digital connection and has nothing to do with RF (aerial) distribution, so this box doesn't apply to your problem at all.

Aha, I thought I overlooked something... I have no knowledge in this domain. Is it even possible to use the RF aerial input for anything else than cable TV and satellite?

...and terrestrial TV. Locally, you can only use it to distribute SD analogue video, because for digital transmissions the required "modulator" (of sorts) is far too complex and expensive to include in any domestic AV kit. Local distribution of HD video is much easier to do over IP, but that's obviously not supported directly by older TVs.

If you update your TV to the latest SW (30.08a) you can connect an HDMI switch. Then you could connect up to 4 HDMI sources depending on the model.B&O recommends using a GEFEN TV switch which can be controlled by puc. It is also possible using a cheap generic one with automatic source switching.
If your TV is not running on one of the more recent SW versions you can also use a HDMI switch but cannot assign more than one source to the DVI input. This might be a problem when you want to use multiple HDMI sources with different PUCs.
Griebel:I'm using the Gefen HDMI switch with my 7-32 and it works perfectly. On the bad side, the Gefen is not cheap.
Thanks I will look at it. Are you able to switch on the sources using DTV and V.MEM buttons? And you probably also need one or more dacs or extractors for the sound?
