Really, great thread
I did the NL/ML-Setup myself and yes it´s a little bit tricky. there is a link to the installation guide version 1.2 for the Beolink Converter NL/ML somewhere in this forum. It´s really usefull. Don´t forget to pull the powercord after every changes in the configuration. The BLC needs a restart to do the new settings. I removed some devices in the NL management myself and changed some settings and forgot to restart - in the end I shouted at the box. But mostly "The reason for failure is almost sitting in front of the device" . Don´t forget to update the software. The latest version from the BeoLink Converter NL/ML is 1.4.1.19311 from 11 June 2015. Have fun with the new Essence MK 2 and the BLC. Take care!

PK, could you test something for me? I'm nearing the purchase of a Essence and i'm wondering: In the BeoMusic app there is access to iOS music library. If used, the Essence wil play the selected music, but can you "join" this from another room?
I'm still troubled that Airplay does not distribute from say A9 to Essence, Yamaha and their new MusicCast does this fine..

In an email from Yamaha they assure that they distribute any source externally but also the internal sources. Also they accept any blutooth hid device for control, so you can even hookup the essence wheel. Hook this up to an arduino IR translator and you have a verry cheap but much more capable receiver. The one touch 'join' is ofcourse better executed on b&o side. But why does the essence not distribute airplay again?
Let's say it so: I want to see (=hear) that, before I believe it.
I don't know of any case - besides from iTunes - that Apple allows for streaming to more than one device at the time.

I am asking as I have a mk1 essence and thinking of getting a mk2 and wondered how they would both work with the app as the mk1 is not able to join the multiroom.

Well, they accept airplay. And distribute this to other receivers or any of the sonos like speakers they make. So a single point airplay from ios to multiple receivers distributed trough utp.

Aussie Michael:Well done elephant - is this itunes music stored on the actual device and or streaming from a different location? From what I understand of your post you are able to have a song in your itunes library streaming to multiple locations - something that in the past one has only been able to do when they stream from itunes on a computer and not on an ios device? However there is something tricky going on:-- iTunes tracks purchased by that device that are downloaded onto the device play-- Apple Music downloads don't play-- iTunes purchased by the family group owner appear not to play-- it may even be that MP3 rips by the family group owner don't playSo great when it works and as maddening as hell itself when you can see a grayed out track you are lusting to hear .....

The second one - no you can't ignore the rotation of the device.
Rotating gives you access to the two 'interfaces' of the app.
