Millemissen:

BS Moment/BS Essence = addition, replacement or complement - I guess that depends very much on ones habits/listening needs etc and the (recent) setup in the house.

There are lots of ways to use/combine these devices......

How about adding an Essence (without 'wheely', but with the BeoMusic-app) to the BS/BM5 (using the Behringer usb-device) - would give you AirPlay and Spotify Connect as bonus and a free line-in connection for e.g. a turntable.

Let your fantasy do the job 😺

I finally decided to buy an Essence and connect it with the Behringer as you suggested.  I could also connect it to the Aux In on my Beosound 3000 with an rj45 to Aux In cable I think?  Any benefit to connecting it to one of the Beosounds over the other? Or would it function just the same using either connection method?

Went back and re-read old posts and refreshed my memory so I think the answer to my question is yes can connect to either, and no difference in how it would function. It has been a few months since those posts and and previously discussing these questions. Nothing has changed with software updates since then, except for the better? Nothing that would affect which Beosound to connect it to?

Yes and yes!

If you 'only' have the BS/BM5 and the Essence (and perhaps some MLinked rooms): yes!

Look at the Essence as 'just a device', that is connected to the Aux-in (via the Behringer USB device).

However, the NL-ML Converter would give you some other possibilities!!!

My Essence is scheduled for delivery today, however the dealer sent me the wrong cable. I ordered an rj45 to aux in but was sent an rj45 to power link.

Dealer says they do not have an rj45 to aux in. I was going to connect it to the aux in of my BS3000. As it looks like I will need to order new cables and wait a bit to connect it, I think I will go with the Behringer option and connect to my Beosound 5 instead.

Or should I order a converter?  You said it would give me some other possibilities?  What would those be?   Thanks!
