It is not - the Avant is a 4K-tv.
The tv's that supports the mentioned specs are just about to be released.
However, you can connect a UHD-BRP and enjoy the higher (4K) resolution.
I am sure that the UHD-BluRay titles will look amazing on the Avant.

There is a tv - and there is a BV

paolomariano: Do you mean that B&O is releasing new tvs which are compliant?

I have no idea!
But why not - in some way or another ;-)

I doubt, that it will be an updated/upgraded Avant.
Probably a new tv of some kind.
We will have to wait to see, what comes from Struer.
In my opinion HDR is more important than more pixels/4K.

Bv7Mk3:If they did. I'd buy if it was up graded to HDR and Hevec! That's what has put me off buying.i almost got the Avant at a good price but when I read no HDR ect it was a no buy.
Has kept me up too!
But we can only speculate, if there will be an upgrade to the Avant or not.
Personally my 'gut feeling' is, that we are going to see something different - maybe quite different.
They are talking quite openly about having to cooperate with other manufacturers with regards to coming tv's. - whatever that would mean.
Raeuber:But BV 11 is also outdated, nobody would buy a tv without 4K nowadays for more than 1000 EUR.
I would!
But I would not buy a 4K-tv without HDR, HFR and WCG..... today.

Totally agree about OLED. After seeing the LG Curved next to top of the line curved Samsung LCD, there really is no comparison. Everything on OLED looked incredibly smooth and realistic.
Aussie Michael:What is HDR?

rob08:I currently have a mk1 BV11-55 and would be very very interested in upgrading of a new BV11 mk came with 4K and HDR with internal 4K decoding for Netflix
Dave Farr:Some of the pictures I've seen with HDR on compared to not, hurt my eyes! Some are too bright and make me screw my eyes up. Granted, they are just photos and not video on a full HDR screen but I think some people won't be comfortable with it. Some pictures have too much detail which doesn't look natural. Dave.
BillC:Hi Michael I played it via the built in app of my Samsung UA78js9500w Yes it's not B&O!! I needed a big tv now and B&O could not confirm if they will sell a TV that will support UHD Bluray. Trying to warm my wife up to another big tv (hopefully B&O) - Samsung for my daughter and B&O for me I have a LG OLED and I have to say the LG has better contrast and black levels. Would have preferred to stick to OLED but LG didn't fully support HDR, wide colour gamut or had OLED in 70+inch size
paolomariano:So you think that a new Avant should have netflix, don't you?
rob08:I think that would be great! Imagine if they added Netflix as a separate source just like Spotify or deezer?
Hi BillC yes I believe that LG are also supplying SONY in the near future with OLED panels.
I like Netflix too. Being an environmentalist and activist, I particularly like its offerings of US documentaries that the BBC would be too frightened to show. Here in the UK, we are getting new documentaries on the same day as the USA do. I read that Netflix are fighting for all of its country's to be allowed films at the same time. Hope this one day will happen. Since I don't watch TV often, maybe two hours a week, I feel that it's a bargain at £5.99 a month.
Personally, If I had a B&O TV, I wouldn't use the apps, as i'm aware at what B&O are like with no education in software, so i'd always rely on a separate box that worked well!
