Oh that's great news. It's a pity Sony couldn't get OLED production by itself. I've seen their professional OLED screen and the original tiny consumer ones they built years ago - very impressive.

BTW Vestel, the panel OEM is going to produce OLED panels by 2017 with tech assistance from LG.

If B&O can get through these few years I think they will have a bright future - bringing their wonderful audio, video technology, PUC to merge with OLED.

Yah I hear you, never was fond of their simply text font UI anyway lol. The only problem I have with external boxes is that I haven't found one where Netflix doesn't need a mouse style input - I'm old fashion and prefer using buttons/analog input. BTW another good reason for external boxes is Dolby Atmos.

That being said I have a hoard of different tech now and I'm getting tired of making it all work, paying B&O premium for all in one convenience is quite acceptable for us now!

Just to go back to the main subject of My thread... Do you think that (apart from hdr), I would be able to play uhd bluray onto the current Avant 55 (using a uhd bluray player)? Will uhd Netflix everybody include hdr?

Hi Paolo,

I'm sure that you can play UHD Blu-Ray on your Avant, you probably just won't be able to get the best from it as the Avant just has a basic panel and is not HDR equipped etc. or OLED so a bit old / outdated really.

Netflix seem to be truly ahead in the field so expect them to be working with HDR.

Means - if you want HDR content, you will have to go the Amazon or the UHD/Bluray way.

Or find one of the few movie theaters, that can show HDR movies.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
