beovision11 gapless playback

I wonder if it's possible to get gapless audio playback on the bv11 by connecting an external USB harddrive Directly.

1: yes, if your files are tagged properly.

2: no!

3: yes - very basic, if you are willing to do pretty much scrolling.

I would recomment, that you use a DLNA server, where you have your content (instead of a connected usb-drive) and a DLNA controller app (like PlugPlayer, 8Player, Bubble-UPnP etc to choose, what you want to play - and send it to the BV11.

BS5/BM5 can play gapless files which have been ripped from CDs. I recall that clear from the time i owned it.

DLNA doesn't have gapless playing as far I know. You need a front end audio system or software that acts as a renderer to do this.

I did not answer to that question, since I have no experience/knowledge of playing back from a connected USB-drive.

The BS5 plays gaplessly back from the BM5 without issues, because it basicly is a pc-based setup.

Using the DLNA server for playback on the BV11 does not provide gapless play.

Gapless playback is a 'problem child'' for any DLNA-based system, and requires some tweaking on the renderer site.
