Hi experts,

I have just finished re-foaming and it's the first time I've done this. The foams and glue came from Audiofriends, and fitting was all very straight-forward. I've tried them at low and medium volume and all sounds really good. Before cranking the volume up a bit, I was wondering how long I should leave the glue to set. This initial try-out was after 15 hours setting time.

How long should I leave the glue to set?

cheers

Nick

I like to leave them a day or two though maybe over cautious. What do Audiofriends or the glue supplier suggest?

Dave.

Depending on the glue, I leave mine (Arleene´s Tacky Glue) 24 hours, but 12 hours will probably do

Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.

I received this email from Audiofriends.

Good Morning,

Depending on the thickness and the right use (manual) of the glue is the strongest after 24 hours.

Best regards, Fred Buist

Of course, I could have just asked these suppliers in the first place, but I thought some feedback from the wealth of experience on members would be useful, as re-foaming seems quite popular.

Overnight is plenty of time for an initial test. After two nights I begin playing them 8 hours a day at moderately high levels for a week or two while at work. They should sound fine straight away, but don't panic if they don't. Wait until after a proper break-in.

Many thanks. Actually, they are sounding very nice and solid now. But I'll bear in mind they may even improve with use.

cheers
