Hello,
This gorgeous deck came with an excellent SP10, it is in good condition overall - except for the infamous desiccated rubber feet that make any metal around rusty, only screws here.
Now my query is the following: the deck is complete, but one part is missing. It is part 21, simply called "mat" in the service manual.
Could any of you show me what it looks like, what it is made of, and, most importantly, measure its three dimensions?
Thanks!
Jacques
Number 20 is the strobo disc if I'm not mistaken. Not missing in the photo.
Martin
Sorry Martin, edited. Part n°21.
Thanks Dave!
Is it double-sided adhesive foam that holds the strobodisc to the platter base ?

And there I was thinking the black mat was just loose on the TT. I hadn't spotted the groove for the tachodisc but yes, it is there. But how to get to that circlip to remove it? It's really awkward to get to because of the 45 rpm adapter on top of it. I can't measure the foam unless I take the tachodisc off. I'll get around to it - I'm setting up my new ATV4 at the moment and multi-tasking is not a strong point of mine.
Dave.
The circle just moves up along the spindle. Edit: chez Jacques, the EP adapter is free to be lifted out.
Thanks for bothering Dave!
I will post a picture tonight.
There. I seem to miss ring number 15 as well then. Is there some sort of spring?
Don't damage anything Dave, okay?
Here from my BG 1000, the lower of the 2 rings is from the center piece, just a retainer ring, pull up the center piece with the ring, if very hard add a little oil to the spindle
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
Progress. I got the adapter off but the split ring was very tight. I haven't managed to lose it yet. I just need to find my circlip tool to take the clip off to measure the foam.
I'll be back!
Tremendous, thanks!
Hi Jacques, mission accopmlished.
Photo of the TT off and the parts, including the foam which is not fixed in any way:
That's great, thanks very much indeed Dave!
Yes, I've come across those. As you say, sheer madness. They don't even look very good at all!
There is another one up for auction too, currently at 23 €. I paid 50 € for mine with a very good SP10... It just needed some lubrication and the foam disc.
The trouble with those seems to be corrosion, and mine is okay fortunately.
Bonjour Jacques,
I just put my hand to on this jewel of beogram 1800, and I need to fix it... starting un mounting it without indications but becoming difficult.
Do you have by a change the user manual ? si par chance il est en francois ce serai genial - anglais aussi :)
merci !
robin
Hi Robin,
That manual is one of those I still miss, unfortunately.
Not so common I’m afraid.
If ever you came across a mint one, do tell us!
I’ve been looking for years, I must say.
