beocenter 9300 lid problem

The lid on my beocenter is stuck in open position. Nothing happens when I press the cd button and no sound is heard. What do I do?

When you say 'nothing hapens' - does the CD spin?  Do any of the indicator lights work?  Is there any motor noise for the door mechanism?

You can gently close the door manually by gently holding the edge and pulling it across, then from the top, ease it closed.  I have to do that on one of mine in that series as the door mechanism needs cleaning or the mechanism adjusting.

Yes, it's trying to go through the CD load cycle. Open, put CD in etc. Once it's tried to open, if you close it again manually, it should think the CD has loaded and try to play - if you press CD it will try to open again.

Any motor noise or indication the CD tries to spin?

It looks like the door wants to operate. I think it will need to be opened up, the runners cleaned as they are probably full of dust which is causing the problem.

I haven't looked so don't know but some BM's and BC's tell you underneath which screw to remove. Gold and Silver members here on Beoworld have access to the service manuals which is well worth the small outlay. Some service manuals can be found freely via a Google search.

Alternatively, do a forum search on the BC9000 series and the answer may be in there. Also, maybe a more accurate or succinct diagnosis and fix.

For another try you can use a flat screwdriver to turn the mechanism. Insert it through the hole left to the infrared window. It is in the area, where the gap pf the lid is. When you can turn and move the lid, the belt must be worn out.

Yes, it seems so. And if the belt is loose, you should also hear the motor working for a few seconds.

It can be opened like a chest, but the hinge is at the front. You find the instruction printed on the bottom plate
