Hi,
A friend of mine has a AV9000 system. She bought a new tv and she offered me, her old B&O tv (from 1993). Does it have internal speakers? Will it work without the loudspeaker?
Thanks!!!
The beosystem AV9000 has a mono speaker under the TV, you can then connect front and rear beolbs for a 5.0 system

First of all, thanks!!!
So, the mono speaker on the front works as a satelite speaker for the others, but it also works as a stand alone, right?
The centre speaker on the AV 9000 will work just on its own if you have no surround powerlink speakers connected to it, you will just get mono sound from it.

Not quite right. AV9000 uses a 4 channel decoder, the old Dolby Pro Logic. It`s a matrix based decoder, that creates 4 channels from a single stereo track. In SPEAKER 1 mode it will play front channels in mono.

A friend of mine had the AV9000 (the last one from the assembly line, he told me) as standalone tv for some years.
I used to nick him for having the most expensive mono-tv of the world ;-)

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Ahahahahah! You are so right! It´s was a quite expensive mono tv :) Again, perfect for old retro gaming
is the B&O LX 6600 worth a try?
