Hi Guys,
Not sure if anyone can help? But one of my Beolab 18's has started to make a really bad noise when a strong bass is played mainly in movies, it's like a vibration noise from the air intake, hard to explain. I've tried tightening all the screws and also with and without the cover.... I've had them for about 2 years so out of warranty probably.
Cheers TC
Hi TC,
All B&O products come with a three year warranty, and the BL18 was launched in late 2013 so will undoubtedly still be under warranty.
The best course of action therefore would be to contact your dealer and see how they want to proceed, but please do let us know the outcome once you know what the problem is/was.
Kind Regards,
Martin.
Ok Thanks, I didn't know about the 3 year warranty. I'll keep the forum updated.
Cheers
TC
i am owning a pair of 18s (got them new from the dealer) and i realized same problem you´ve explained.Could you please tell me what was the issue?Thank you very much and best regardsKai
Hi Kai,
We had to take them to the B&O repairer, which fortunately we just managed to get under warranty. I think from memory it was the bass driver? Sorry I cant be more help, good luck! :)
- if it's a rattling noise like there's some small part shaking/moving it will be the bass driver and its coil. - if it's an air/wind flow noise type sound, it's just the noise the air makes while being pumped through the bass reflex tunnel. Simple physics and nearly inevitable on very very high volume levels. At normal listening levels it shouldn't be audible!
