Hi all,

I am quite new to the B&O trend but recently I've had a system installed in a new renovation that we've completed. Although the initial installation was done by a B&O engineer I am not venturing to improve the programming and the features available.

The system is simple and consists of an avant 55, moment, blgw and 3 rooms with an essence mk2 in each. What I am trying to determine is when programming triggers on the blgw is it possible to trigger commands using source selection/profile 1/2 selection on the beoremote 1. Currently I am using the Status_Update command and it is not very efficient.

If anyone has any ideas as to how I can programme this is would be really helpful.

Thanks all,

Alex

Can you explain this a little more?

Thanks for coming back.

Yes - I can explain with the attached screen shot. The command basically makes one virtual LED button light in a few different zones (Movie) and make the others turn off. The trigger is where I'm having the issue. Currently this is triggered when the Status_Update trigger states the sourceName=AppleTV!. However, I would like it to trigger on the IR command from the Beo Remote 1. The status update method doesn't seem to be too effective all the time.

Any ideas would be welcome.

Cheers,

Alex

What are you trying to achieve would be the better question?

Understood, but ehat specifically are trying to make happen. If you tell us what the scene or event you are trying to trigger is we can then give guidance.

Right.. You can trigger commands with the BR1 by using light or control commands.

You must create this macros in the virtual buttons.. Hide those buttons, then call the light or control command you want whatever you want and use that to be a trigger for the scene you want.

I.e

Control 1 executes scene Away

Thanks for writing back but I'm not sure this is what i'm looking to do. We can take another example. When I select the Apple TV from my BR1 I want the system to recognise this and then perform a command off the back of that. The specific command relates to switching some buttons with LEDs on/off.

So pressing Personal 1 on my BR1 triggers Apple TV and a specific speaker group. We can use Personal 1 Under the Command section of a macro but not the Event section and it's here I want to use it.

Any further ideas?

Thanks

Alex

You won't be able to make a source turn on lights.

You'll have to create a scene.

You'll have to learn to press 'movie' as an example to do all of these things.

There is no way for a source to be a trigger.

Why not just create a scene. You can call the scene Apple TV and that will do what you want.

Ah ok the reason I want to be able to do this is because I have a series of LED buttons highlighting if the TV is on or if Apple TV is on or if the music is playing. See attached. Can anyone think of a way to incorporate this? It's good as it allows me to see whats on/off when i'm away from the property

Cheers,

Alex

Hi @ahjrennie did you get any further with this mission? I see why you're wanting to do what you're doing and I've found the STATUS_UPDATE to be a bit unreliable too. In theory it should be usable though. I'd love the BLGW to be able to pickup when I change source directly from the remote, for a few reasons (it's easier to explain to other people for a start - otherwise a lot of functionality of the BEO4 / BeoRemote 1 etc. Becomes pointless - e.g. pressing 'TV' to watch TV)!!

Hey Alex - are you still using STATUS_UPDATE to do this? I seem to be having more luck after figuring it out a bit more with the BLGW. Now when my Essence MKII turns-off or swaps to Deezer/TuneIn it turns my Sony TV off.
