Thanks for spending time on my problem, although it turns out that I wasted your precious time:
I forgot to look at my belt changing pictures (!!!!!) when I put back the various parts; I put the "arm guide" back the other way around thus getting that spring pulling in the wrong direction, thus not activating wheels W.

The BC 1200 is now fully operational: almost 100 % noiseless FF and FR.

The playback over one of my BM’s is great; however after having read in various threads (both Beoworld’s and other’s) I am a bit insecure as to the recapping issues; although I can not estimate the condition of the orange colored caps ( before desoldering them, there are quite a few, to easily test them) the BC sounds still very good: is it despite this recommendable to do the recapping, after all they are over 40 years old.?

In the light of the aforementioned  issue I take the opportunity to mention that when comparing the sound quality of my BC. 1200 with my BC 1600, the latter is much poorer: first when playback over it’s own amplifier connected 2 RL 140 ‘s, sounds dull + humming, and second when using a 5-pin DIN cable to a BM: hardly any output and also, amplified, humming. Could this a capacitor issue?

As usual any advice is very much appreciated.

(Meanwhile I will check one dead channel issue with my BM1200, but any questions in an other thread)

Aad
