It does...you need to pull off the the pulley on top first. That will need some force (I'm pretty sure the one on yours doesn't have a grub screw).

Oh, that reminds me of the brass ring in the CD50 motor. But also the Uher 4200 I recently fixed, whose motor has two pulleys, one on each side!
A nightmare, that!

I have pulled 3-4 pulleys, using a small extractor, it seams like B&O used Lock Tite or similar cement to secure the pulley on the shaft, after loosening the first bit they come of without much force. I secured the pulleys with Lock Tite Blue again, none of the pulleys had grub screws.
I have had good results warming the pulley a little with a soldering iron.

If you are married to one, like Soren, Rich and I am*, then you will know all about it ... rooms full of bales of material
On a positive note, it does mean that there are less grounds for complaint about B&O equipment !

Ah so. I do select all fabrics I need.... So no problems on that (or violence with).
And tough not bales of fabric, not even mine, I dont have any problems with selfs full of vintage or so... or other materials...

You have fabulous skills when it comes to craftmanship, Leslie and some of the things, you've made arequite tasteful but those blue and red clothed uniphase speakers ?Honestly, I'm not sure if I'd like to see the livingroom where those blue and palisander ones fit in.
I like the colors! And great craftsmanship and attention to detail Leslie.

Anyone to his taste, I agree.On white cabinets, I would imagine they could look nice if you have the room for it.Like you do the CX speakers with blue or some other color cloths. I've done a few of those myself, but tome the palisander or teak finish doesn't go very well with blue or red or any other strong color, really.Must have a very special home decoration to fit those in.

We discussed it in the old forum as well, I like these colored fronts, here is mine, and it do combine very nice with the rosewood

Severian:regarding the colors, I think the bright blue and red not only look good but also look more in line with what is considered "Scandanavian" modern than the black grills. I always have associated the use of color with this kind of design. Certainly it was so when I discovered such things in college back in the 70's at a furniture store named Scan Design. I can see why B&O would have opted for a safe and widely used black, I do remember some wild blue and orange JBL grills then. But I think the colored grills are faithful to the design aesthetic. Reminds me of a Blue Honda
The JBL L100 was what I was thinking about, you could get orange, blue, or brown foam grills. I once had a pair of the Design Acoustics D12's, the dodecahedron shaped omnidirectional speakers in blonde wood with bright blue grills.

Enough blue, going to tidy up my workbench today, I have to do something, I'm waiting for spare parts for my BM 4400, and in TX I have to pick up a Variac, a pair of P45s, a BG TX2, but cant go as I'm waiting for some jobs to come in.
For my instruments I'm making a swing holder, Now do I paint it, or do I cover it with Red or Blue speaker fabric ??
