First unpack, then...
There is a tv - and there is a BV
...you see, what is in the box
First play - impressing :-)
This is not a grown-up speaker, but for what it is - a speaker to go - it is quite mazing.
A speaker for grown-ups on the go - or for teenager hiding in their cabinet all day long.
I like it already!
It - of course - is not a speaker for large rooms, but it can play pretty load.
I find it pleasant at 2/3 volume from the iPhone.
I had thought, that it would be best on a table, but actually it is quite good hanging free also.
Please don't mistake it for the soap
Good for bedtime listening too
...and finally - if you happen to have the old BeoMusic app
Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.
I Love it! Love the swinging 60s retro design.
I really fancied the rose gold one. I hope that they are still going to do that. I bet a black copper edition one would look great too.
I like it a lot!
Yeap!- A hippie token in army green from 1969 Woodstock....
Could you at least smoke it...
paolomariano: elephant: I wonder how long until stereo support comes out BeoNut since '75 I think I have already seen it in the app. I'll check and let you know

I see nothing about this in the app.
There is not a picture of it there, either (instead the A2 is shown).
Only thing you can do is (re)name it - at least I did not find anything else.
It seems that there will be a black version too.
The provided link there for the A1 on the Play website is not working (yet)..
Don't forget - it is not launched yet!
The small booklet gives some insight - in a vaste amount of languages ;-)
It can be used for handsfree phone calls (has a microphone built-in) and (with a to-a-pc-usb-connection) as a conference speaker.
We will have to wait for more information/videos.....untill the A1 site is online, I guess.
P.S. Before anyone asks, as I don't have a weight at home, I don't know the weight - it seems pretty solid when you hold it in your hand.
P.P.S. Go check it out, if you can - highly recommended for those in need of a small ultraportable speaker.
MM
Sorry - yes, a cable is provided.
Comes without a charger - use the computer...
...I plan to use one of my existing iOS-device chargers.
That's an excellent idea MM!!!! Plus it means that B&O don't have to put one of those ugly brick type chargers in the box with the A1. Design wise, if you can't design a nice charger - then don't put one in the box and ruin the image! Here in the UK, the iPhone charger is very very smart - Apple watch charger even better as I believe that the prongs fold inside of it for travel!

Indeed! Apple really took the extra effort to make chargers that travel well.

Yes, thank you very much MM for the excellent postings of the pix! Very nice.
@Beojeff - so true.
Well done B&O - the A1 looks fabulous. Retro done very well - just like those gorgeous baby blue Dutch bicycles and the lovely Fiat 500 :) which are truly everywhere! Let's hope that the chic fashion / travel / lifestyle bloggers start talking about the A1.
BeoBoy68:When ? Do you have date info ? Thanks

Thanks for the photos Millemissen! Can you simply disassembly that thing like the Beolit 12 in case the battery dies or is it a China-throw-away-thingy? I guess the silver one has to be inspected by me in real live :-)Judging by the photos I still don't like the design. But if it sounds better / more natural than my Bose Soundlink mini I may get weak and buy it... :-)

paolomariano:It would be interesting, but I am 37, and this is especially designed with teenagers in mind.
Not just for teenagers - once you have to think of finding a place in a retirement home, you would be happy with the A1....
...and a (big) iPad Pro
P.S. I am still impressed on the second day - maybe even more than yesterday.
Beolab 50, Beolab 8000 x 2, Beolab 4000 x 2, BeoSound Core, BeoSound 9000, BeoSound Century, BeoLit 15, BeoPlay A1, BeoPlay P2, BeoPlay H9 3rd Gen, BeoPlay H6, EarSet 3i, BeoVision Eclipse Gen 2 55", BeoPlay V1-40, BeoCom 6000 and so much else :)
You think this might be the same generic (Chinese) product only in different case?

To judge from pictures that one is a good deal smaller than the A1.
Millemissen: To judge from pictures that one is a good deal smaller than the A1. MM
Thats true, but the design is quite similar.
I love my green one..... ☺☺☺
Wonderful sound for the size and in moss green it looks sooooo cool

Did your retailer already sell it to you or where you given one? I can't see it for sale yet but I know it is coming soon.
For me, it's the nicest looking B&O for a long, long, long time! It fits my lifestyle perfectly.
i had luck, it was sold "regulary".
elephant: Millemissen: It can be used for handsfree phone calls (has a microphone built-in) and (with a to-a-pc-usb-connection) as a conference speaker. I am hoping I can conference call from phone to A1 without PC-USB being connected for power

Great question. I think the A1 would be a nonstarter for me if it had to be plugged in for a conference call. MM When you have time could you check this? MM I loved your review. I am hoping for the A1 will be available in white. I don't get the retro design idea. It doesn't look like anything from the sixties.
I can't imagine taking the A1 on a vacation flight. Going through airport security is really tedious especially with one more gadget. I usually take my iPhone and iPad with me on the aircraft.
Well, I am not quite sure - but so far as I have understood, it can be used as speaker/microfone, when you connect it to a PC,
that runs a conference software of some kind. I can't test that!
It however, can be used as a handsfree device for normal mobiletelephone calls.
And yes, the USB is for charging. It works well with a normal USB (from my iPhone) charger - I had to test that today ;-)
I don't know where 'the sixties' came from - it just looks neat to me and it is very eady to handle because of the shape.
I wish they would make a nice bag for it!
Of course taking it with you on the airplane could be difficult, but you don't need it during the flight.
Will be a problem, if you don't have any further luggage with you - only handluggage.
Millemissen: I wish they would make a nice bag for it! MM There is a tv - and there is a BV.

Oh this invite looks like something Dieter Rams would design in his Braun times. <3 Spectacular.
You can see it on instagram...
