Beogram 6500 light is on permanently

The light at the rear of the turntable is on permanently - anyone know why and how to fix??

I believe this problem has been posted on the forum a couple of times before, and the problem was the transistor controlling the bulb had shorted. Worth a look anyway.

Thanks for that, you have confirmed my own and Martin's diagnosis.

I ordered some transistors yesterday, lets hope I'm still capable of a bit of soldering.

Replaced TR3 (BC337-25) and fault cured.

The same turntable is inclined to start spinning of it's own accord. Look, no hands!!!

Any one seen this before?
