Hi All,
One of my S45-2's has developed the dreaded 'seized woofer' issue as the magnet has separated.
I can find a few really good discussions about this but only one hands on remedy (the excellent post about using a CD case and various other bits to reposition things before re-fixing).
Doe anyone have any more info or step by step guides for the fixing process please? I would love to know the detail of things before I jump in there and get my hands dirty.
Lastly... is it really a repair job? Some have said that replacement is the best option.
Many thanks for assistance!

I am sorry to say that I believe you will struggle to find a replacement S45-2 woofer other than cannibalising another working speaker. I have done this repair and it was fine. Take your time and enjoy bring it back to life. Good luck.
PS - it may be advisable to apply some prophylactic epoxy glue around the magnet on your surviving woofer to stop it also slipping.
Hi and thanks for the reply Mr Bristol!
Can you give me any tips int he repair and do you have any photos of the process please? I am pretty technically proficient but realise that this is a fine tolerance exercise where permanent damage might be a result.
Any step by step guides would be a great help.
Cheers,
Jono
