I have a Beosound Essence Remote set in IR mode to control the Beovision.

Is it possible to set somehow the default source the Beovision Avant needs to select when started by means of a Essence remote control?

The Essence remote just sends a "TV" command.

In the source list, you can choose wich one of youre sources that responds to the ir "TV" command. Press the red button when the source is highlighted in the source list.

This will of course also change which source will be activated when pressing "TV" on the Remote One

Well, that is not what happens on my installation.

I have an Essence2 integrated with the Avant.

When I start the system with the IR Essence Remote it will always start playing the last used TuneIn channel of the integrated Essence2.

And clicking the top button of the remote does not do anything else, no switching to the next source.

Ok, what I noticed is that I have set on my Avant is that the linked Essence2 TuneIn is the Music-out-of-standby source to be used.

So it seems the Essence Remote wakes up the Avant in the same way as the Music button on the BR1.

@Flere

You mean that it turns on the tv an let you listen to TuneIN (from the Essence)?

Can you then control the volume (of the tv/Avant) with the wheely?

And change stations with that as well?

What (source) does the tv display?

(Sorry for all these questions - but rhis is interesting!)

Yes. And mute and un-mute with the lower button. And all-standby with 2seconds lower button.

And change stations with that as well?

Yes, with the left and right button.

What (source) does the tv display?

Linksymbol TuneIn (essence2name)

The default mode and speaker group set for this source.

So in my case: Music mode and only the Beolab 5 connected to the Avant.

I have done something similar. I have a wall mounted Essence remote. Quick press turns on N. Radio through a Beosound 5, plays on two front speakers connected to a BV10. Long press turns on N. Music.Left and right skips to next track. Wheel adjusts volume.

Is that last long-press from standby?
