Uuug. that sucks. The marketing shows them being used for jogging.

Did anyone see the Jabra Rox? Also Danish and the same design but much cheaper. Probably not as good but I believe H5 is too expensive.

I love my H3s though and my H8s has a battery that lasts me a few weeks with daily usage. To and from work.

H5 seems cool but they cost as much as a pair of H6 almost.

Yes the sound is excellent! But this is not enough for me. I received mine today and I'll return them as well. I already experienced some dropouts while walking for 10 minutes in the street and I don't find them comfortable to wear (I tried different sizes but nothing matched my ears and I started to pain). When I turn my head I can clearly hear the sound of the cable rubbing on my teeshirt...

Sad

Damn, dropouts, and sounds from the cable are totally unacceptable to me, guess I have to wait for the onslaught of vendors releasing similar products when the iPhone 7 launches.

Seems awfully hard to get hold of.... Does anybody have an estimate for when they will be available at BeoPlay.com web shop?

I went to a store today and they had sold their only pair already. Th customer is bringing them back because of all the noise transmitted through the necklace bit, and drop outs.

I was listening to my H8s last night, and via Bluetooth they are incredibly quiet. Full blast on a plane and I struggle to hear clearly. Connect them via a cable and they burst into life.

On a side note, I've just bought a pair of these bad boys after my young Labrador ate my old Bose pair. They have ANR and Bluetooth. I can sit on the plane listening to Queen, and then when ATC or the fist officer speak my own personal DJ turns the music right down.

When it all goes quiet, Queen againLets have a Party !!!

As it might interest some of you... It's possible to pair up to 8 devices with the H5. So no problem if you want to pair it with your smartphone/tablet/portable/...

Unfortunately I think we have a lemon

🍋

I am having difficulties maintaining a full charge, making a BT connection.

At least the BeoPlay app connected and I was able to upgrade the firmware.

So I have no idea what's going wrong 🤕

Well the visit to the store to return a "lemon" H5 revealed that I am the lemon Embarrassed

However the audio BT pairing process is tricky (IMHO) as there is not much travel in the switch in the middle of the dongle.

So I have now done two hours of road testing: walking city and suburban village streetscape and train and trams and quiet room listening.

Conclusion: still enjoying the sound.

Discovery: the default plugs are not good fits for either ear and worse Angry one ear is different from the other something A8s and Apple ear buds had never revealed. So considerable plug to ear variations planned for tomorrow.

Frustration: yes the cable rub against winter collars does generate noiseSad

More tomorrow.

Tried the H5s with the intention to buy but sadly they did not perform and my experience echoed that of previous posters. I personally feel this product is a lemon with no proper testing before release like so many other products before. B&O have been doing this since the release of the BeoSound 3 (another lemon) when I personally feel B&O took a downward turn regarding their products.

The H5 ear plugs were pretty useless and I couldn't get any of the accessroties to fit at all in my ears, not even close. They all fell out far too easily. The connection was terrible and dropping constantly. I wasn't even moving, just sat down trying to pair with my iPhone 6 Plus. I didn't like the design and thought the volume control should have been centred on the cabling or better still not present at all. The sound was no different to the earbuds supplied with my iPhone from Apple and in many ways I much prefer the sound of those. Another failed attempt then at trying to part with some money! No point spending £200 on this product, much as I wanted to have a new toy that I don't need anyway!

I just can't figure out what on earth B&O are doing these days. How many companies have to work really hard to try and sell something? Most I would say. Yet with B&O, because they have my loyalty and genuine passion for (previous - 60s to 90s) products, I turn up at dealers time and time again ready to spend. In days gone by I wouldn't even bother trying a product but these days, I can't even give my money away even though I want to because even the basics aren't done properly. Complete shambles.

On a more positive note, I was very impressed with the A1 so bought that, thankfully! I am happy to say that this does... so far... seem like a really good product so I feel I am just about hanging on with B&O!

I don't even feel excited by the new audio and tv products to come soon; somehow I just know they are going to be lacking in new unique designs and riddled with problems but I do hope I am wrong!

Simon.

B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.
11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

On the other hand I had no drop outs from my 5S even when walking and public transport.

Whereas I still get times when my H8s drop out.

I wonder if the left-hand-side H5's control and where I presume all the receiving and processing is the secret as I always have the iPhone in my left *** pocket.

Hi all,

I just can't get any luck keeping these tightly in my ears. I'm not a big guy, and I'm using the large earbuds, but they slide out when I get sweaty and run.

Anyone have a 3rd party ear lock or other ideas? Any chance the rubber tips work better?

Thanks.

Hi!

You have to put the cable over your ears. There is a small statement for it in the manual. During a run I've been using them like that and they are amazing. On a 11k run I don't have to touch them to keep them in.

Good luck!

Roy.

I had similar challenges without even running or jogging (loved by BS2+A8s when I was trading 9 Surprise years ago in NCL).

So I am trying this new look:

Which my wife hates as she says they look like hearing aids (which sooner than later I am going to have to give in to).

Pity the BCC's cut/ groove is not conducive to me hanging the cord there - I could have tried the pierced hipster look instead.

Anyway off to work without my hipster H8s and enjoying these H5s.

Currently listening to this collection and enjoying the crispness of the default settings; and I do believe the stereo separation / sound stage is better.

It can't go in the centre as the cord is designed to go behind your neck.

These H5's have been a strange launch.

I went on the BeoPlay website only a few days after release and the black pair was out-of-stock. Yet, since then, B&O has been sending out press releases, pushing news to tech websites and even promoting the release on the BeoPlay Twitter feed. I tweeted them back saying it's odd to promote something you can't buy - and I've been waiting for re-stock confirmation for nearly two weeks now.

Either they've held back on new stock to make some adjustments based on feedback or demand is so high (which I doubt) they can't keep up?

Feedback on here hasn't been great so far. Anyone actually like the H5's?

Even their press department is a shambles, in my opinion. They send us press releases and ask us to push out news stories on the H5 and you can't buy them, even from B&O. See above.

And, yes, the feedback so far has been fairly poor.

Has anyone seen a review yet? We haven't received a pair to review.

Demand in Melbourne is high

Black model shipments are sold out

So I ordered pink just to jump the queue and I got one two weeks later

Elephant, you're just stating what we all know, there :)

Yes, we know they are sold out - but there can't have been many and it's been out of stock for nearly two weeks! The black pair was only available for 2-3 days! No retailer has stock, either.

Just comes across as a really strange launch to me.

Why does everyone have a problem with the controls being on the left side? If you are right handed like most of the world then reaching over to the left side with your right hand is much easier than reaching it on your right side.

My B&W headphones are the same way.

I wonder if they are gauging demand before committing to big production runs. It would ease the working capital required and reduce risk of unsold items. (Not saying I agree with that approach if it is the case. )

I was quoted some fortnightly shipment volumes

Not being a retailer I have no idea if they are significant or not in the "hang sell" space

Certainly B&O are not in the league of Apple who is reputedly already ramping up the production of their next iPhone and stock piling the inventory some 3 months prior to launch

I fully charged my H5's one week ago. Haven't used them since. Turned them on... 40%...

15 minutes use.. 20%..

Hope they get better after a few charges, or they are gong back. Sad

The technology companies I work for? I work for three of the top four in the UK.

I think it has more to do how the device understands how much battery is left. My H7's do the same thing. I use them for hours and every time I checked it said 70%. Then suddenly it dropped to 30%.

I don't think your H5's will get better with time but take a timer to them and monitor how long they take to drain.

I really like my H5s. Nice design, very good sound, decent battery life. My tip, though: buy some Comply TS-200 tips. Put them on, squish them down, insert into ears and wait for them to expand to form a nice seal.

According to BeoPlay support, they should be available again in the end of August....... So I totally agree. Very strange behavior. But maybe it is for the best, if they keep getting as bad reviews as in here, I might just as well save me some money not buying them.

I've actually bought them for a photo shoot - the things I do for B&O, hey?

I'm not sure they'd class those websites as a "blog"!

I work for Datormagazin in Sweden, too :) Heading over to Stockholm in August!

Now, I'm waiting for my H5's to be delivered so I can give you my verdict (after taking shots for a website).
