You can add an ir eye to the BeoSound Essence box and use the beo-remote to control it.
This is not possible with the B&O Play A6.
The A6 has the easy controls on the device - both can be controlled by the 'wheely' and the app.
Depending on your listening habits and needs (in that room) you would have a wider stereo seperation as well as the opportunity to change to other speakers with the Essence/BL4000 solution.
The visual appearance is completely different - but this is of course more a matter of taste.
When used in a NL setup - you can borrow/join the same sources from both.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
One hour ago I posted a one word response to MM, "Thanks!" from my phone. It did not show up. I posted a second time. It did not show up. I just tried posting the one word response "Thanks!" again, for the third time, this time from a computer. Received message saying duplicate posts not allowed.
To MM, trying yet again...Thanks!
That's pretty much how i explained the purpose of the Essence to a "trainee" at the B&O dealership. We were waiting for the "expert" to come around, and he was like "I don't get it, what does the Essence do?". I said, "It's like an A6 built to drive external speakers". When the "expert" came around (and, for a change, the guy really did know what he was talking about - helped me better understand the capabilities of the BeoLink Converter), he agreed with this.
