Hi,

It's been a long while since I needed help.

Having just upgraded from Beosystem 2 to a lovely new (to me) Beovision 4 65" and Beosystem 3

It's time for me to try to move from Beo4 to Beo5

I have just purchased a second user Beo5 just to play around with, had a look through the forum and there seems to be some do's and don'ts so here's my questions

What versions of the CT tool will work with Beo5

PC should it be Win XP / Win7 or will it work with Win10

Does it need to be 32 bit or 64 bit

Any other tricks to get things working ?

So ultimately I wan't to control my Beosystem 3 that has a UK SKY+HD box, PS3 with NYKO remote and Apple TV Gen1 connected to it

Any help / advise appreciated

Regards

Richard

I would start with CT tool 5.12. It's not the lastest, but beosystem 3 with bv4-65 should be supported. It will update the beo5 firmware to version 1.45b which is the latest for beo5.

For beo5 you need a 32bit operation system, as the beo5 firmware does not support 64bit.

Users reported problems with beo5 and windows 10, so I would go for windows 7. You need a working system to get the most out of your beo5.

It doesn't make sense to make experiments with non-working operation systems and unrecognised beo5 remotes if you want to get quick progress in programming your beo5.

Start with simple functions and then extend programmings to your needs. Often save changes to your remote to be protected against CT tool crashes etc.

Thanks for the great advice

Now the issue is how to find CT 5.12 ?

All the links I find either go to older or newer version or dead links

Any help ?

Thanks for the link so I got the software

Running it on a PCs with win 7 so I think that's running ok

Problem I have now is when the software launches and I check the offline button, when the window opens I only see part of the config window left side is missing a bit and same on the right hand side

Any ideas it may be a Windows think but I tried different resolutions etc no luck

First thing I need to do is change the batteries as they only last a few mins

Finally sorted this issue and have the software running properly.

Can't get the software to see the remote when connected ?

How do I check the driver is loaded correctly ?

Hi everyone.

So this relates to a Beo5 firmware 1.45b running config S/W 5.12 on an XP laptop

So I am getting somewhere, have software running have created a simple config and downloaded it.

All of a sudden the battery level is zero was working great, and it does have fully charged new batteries any ideas on that ?

so here's my setup, hope I have it explained well.

Beosystem 3 (UK version) connected to Beovision 4

I have 3 sources connected. internal tuners disabled, everything works 100% using a Beo4 remote

All 3 inputs have IR Blasters connected

1,     AV1, source TV, Thompson Sky+HD box DRX890WL, HDMI A

2,     AV2, Source DTV, Apple TV, HDMI B

3,     AV3, Source DVD, Sony PS3 with NYKO remote

I also have a Sonos box connected to AV4 as an audio only source, only need to switch to this don't expect to be able to control it

Any help on how to programme this or missing codes etc would be gratefully received.

Regards

Richard
