Dear members,
how do you best clean the wood on the older Beovox speakers?
Thanks!
Kai
What needs to come off what woodsort?
Martin
I've just acquired a pair of Beovox MC 120-2. Wood is pretty bright. May be teak or the brightest version of rosewood. They look very good. No marks, dents or scratches. However, there seems to be some sort of plastic or rubber paint on one side of one speaker, which may be there due to contact with a corresponding surface that easily rubs off. No scratch or anything. Just traces of black rubber/plastic/paint. And of course dust needs to come off, too.
Just wanted to ask after my not so successful try to clean the Boevox C 75s the last time. Damage can be easily caused by cleaning as we probably all know ;-)
Greetings,
The Magic Eraser "sponges" (with a single drop of water added) are very good for many of these "strange" marks.Rubbing alcohol can also be used. Then fine steelwool and teak oil.
Always work carefully.Use the underside of the speaker for testing before attacking the sides and tops.
The Jarman brothers' book has a good section about cleaning and sanding wood. I recommend consulting that if you have not already!

Thanks very much guys! Which sort of cables do I need for connecting those to the Beomaster 6000 quad by the way?

Speaker cables.
2-pin DIN male to 2-pin DIN female.
Nothing strange or non-standard.

It's not that old ;-) And wood indeed has its merits ;-) Thanks Martin for the help!
