Hello,
I connected a gefen hdmi switcher to my BV7-40 MKII SW7.94, but changing the hdmi inputs via PUC does no work.
On which connector (C1-4) must the ir-emitter be connected to get hdmi source switching via PUC ?

Hello Martin,
Beovision 7 has 4 IR outputs, each one can control one connected device. Hence, if you have several devices connected to one HDMI input on the TV, the TV will only be able to control one of these devices (once the details of the device to be controlled have been loaded into the PUC table of the TV by your B&O dealer).
Hence, the TV won't know that it has an HDMI switcher connected. The best option may be to set the HDMI switcher to automatic if possible (ie. let it switch to whichever input is active) and then set the IR output of the TV to control the connected device that you use the most often.
This cable will give you control of an external device via the C1-C4 outputs of the TV: http://soundsheavenly.com/televisions/59--ir-blaster-.html
Kind regards, Steve.

Thanks Stefan,
I assumed that Martin didn't have the newer Beovision 7 software with the "HDMI Expander" option in his TV menu, maybe I should have asked!
Thank you both for your answers. I will give it a try this evening.
Ok, tested it on C4, but it didn't work.
Will try another Gefen HDMI switcher tommorow. It's a 3x1 switcher only, but for testing it should make no difference with only 2 sources.
These Gefen switchers do have an extra connector for an ir extender cable. Might it be possible to make a direct connection between the TV and the switcher without ir ? Just to be sure the ir receiver in the switcher is not defective.

No, it was a used one without the remote control. It's hard to get these switchers for a reasonable price anyway.
Maybe I can learn existing remote control codes from my lintronic box to a Logitech remote to test the switcher's ir receiver.
Even checked that the ir receiver is in default mode on the switcher.
Did you read the linked site?
"place the IR eye 5 mm beneath the IR receiver or use a thin piece of paper between eye and receiver, otherwise it can result in malfunction.
Maybe worth a try...
Will try it this evening, but have little hope that it will work. I had the ir emitter 3-4cm away yesterday.
Found another important info on the website stefan linked.
The gefen ir receiver must be in ir channel mode 1, not on default 0. Never changed this setting on the switcher, but this gives new hope :-)
Problem is the bad readability of the hifi4all site:
Tested every ir channel of the gefen switcher and a put the ir emitter 5mm to 1cm away from the ir receiver. Nothing worked.
With another gefen switcher it's the same. It's not working.
I even tried the setting "gefen 1.3" or "gefen tv" in the source menues. No reaction at all. And it should be nearly impossible that both switchers have the same defect.
These are the switchers I'm currently trying:

Hi Martin, Ive had this Set-UP Please switch on HDMI expander on in Connections menu
Gefen is controlled with C4 with the IR sender placed next to the red light on the Gefen

Hi Douglas,
in SW 7.94 there is no explicit option for a hdmi expander.
It looks like this:
Append source doesn't exists on mine and behind HDTV it says HDMI-1 instead of NO.
My menu is this: Options -> Connections -> AV1 -> HDTV -> HDMI-1 -> select Gefen 1.3 or Gefen TV -> select Digicorder PUC
Everything would be much easier if I could get an old lintronic box and a cheap remote controlable hdmi switch which I have currently running with my living room setup where I have a panasonic plasma screen and a projector with 3 sources, all controled by a Beo4 !
Ok, checked the functions of my two hdmi switchers shown before. They are both working correct with ir commands.
Tested it with a logitech remote which I have learned the codes from lintronic via my tt-238 , as the original codes from logitech don't work.
As I get another tt-238 the next days (thanks to user Silou) I will read the codes the BV-7 PUC sends out and compare them with the codes that I know they are working.
This way I will also see if the BV7 PUC sends ou codes or not.
Got another Lintronic TT-238 today to test the ir codes the BV7 sends out to control the gefen switch.
I was very surprised to find out that the BV7 always sends the power off command to the gefen switch regardless if I switch to DTV (HDMI-1) or V.MEM (HDMI-2) as it is configured for the devices on the BV7 with the gefen switch.
What the hell is wrong with that ?
I spend money on the eeprom chips and the software update to have the latest firmware to support gefen switches and what happens, it does not work.
Now I can manually turn on/off devices with Go+0 (Technisat) or Go/manually selecting Hibernation (AppleTV) to use the auto-switch function of the gefen switch to change HDMI inputs. Wow, this can do switches with price tags around 30€, but gefen, as you know, is much more expensive. Sad but true.
