Duels:Sonething very special with a great friend of mine. £25 a bottle and worth every penny.
paolomariano:Duels, it seems we live in a small world...
Duels:It does!Did you drink it Paolo?
paolomariano:Yes! it was a few weeks ago. They only had two bottles in stock. So I asked them to keep one for me and my friends. It undergoes three different fermentations, one of which is in oak barrels, for around 5 months..
Duels:Yes the barman told us the story before he'd let me buy it!They have a Jeroboam of 9% chimay special reserve in the fridge that I have my eye on.
St Pats Day was in full flight and I couldn't even enjoy it - no carbs at the moment :-(

paolomariano:Me neither...
paolomariano:Duels, we absolutely need to organize a B&OBeersLovers summit this summer!!
BeoNut since '75
Duels:Why?
elephant:Can you make it sometime around 20 September ? I know that is not summer in either hemisphere but it is when we hope to be in Europe ! BeoNut since '75

paolomariano:Please help me arrange the party 🎉 You won't be disappointed with the beer quality and with the accompanying food 🥘 That's a promise.
Duels:Paolo. Sorry I didn't see you ask me this directly. I'll reply on your other thread about 23 September.

Hi Jon, welcome to Beoworld and the beer thread.
That is a good Belgian ale. Tried one a couple of weeks ago. I understand it ages well in the bottle, changing significantly taste-wise over a year or two hence the release date. Have you managed to drink any that is eighteen months/two years old?
Hi Duels,
Thanks! It's really nice, isn't it? I haven't yet sadly, I've had one a couple of weeks ago that was about 9 months old (was the August cellar release, and they leave it for 3 months before releasing anyway) and the taste and colour was noticeably different. Next time I go shopping I'll get a few bottles and leave one in the cupboard until it's ~18 months old and see what it's like!

paolomariano:Chimay blu 2014
Duels:With your taste in interior design surely you should drink Chimay White?
Duels:I have a plan to buy 12 bottles and try one every couple of months for two years. It's great plan but I can see the potential for it to fail.
hah yeah, it's far too nice to just leave it
You should! It's really nice Let us know what you think of it please too
Duels:🍻
paolomariano:Sounds interesting... Never seen before. Tell us more about it!!
Duels:Brewed to coincide (roughly) with St Patrick's day last week by my local brewer. Rich and dark (just like you Paolo!) stout with some good oatmeal flavours. At 7.2% heading towards an imperial stout. Doesn't taste anywhere near that strong and by the pint it's pretty deadly. Helluva good way to start a Friday!
paolomariano:
Duels:I've just spotted it is still closed. I hope that changes soon.
paolomariano:Now it is empty
Duels:And how was it?
Duels:And this is nice..... You got to love the Belgians.
