Hi All. I'm new to Beoworld as I have just bought myself a 5500 set up and thought it would be useful to join. The only "odd man out" is that I have the CD50 instead of the CD5500. The problem is that I cannot control the CD50 from the 5500 master control. I'm not sure if it's a problem with the amp or the CD player, or if it's a known problem with the connecting leads? The amp is receiving a signal from the MCP as the rest of the system works ok. i.e. tape and turntable. Can anyone help please?
Thanks all.
First of all, check that the connecting cable has all seven pins (at both ends, if it is detachable at the CD end).
Welcome and thanks for joining as silver!

Thanks for the welcome, and thanks for the replies. I have checked the DIN cable and all 7 pins are present both ends. I have also checked continuity through all 7 pins and all is well, so now I'm stumped! I'm thinking now that it is probably the CD50 at fault. Any other thoughts please? Buying used equipment is always a risk as you never know it's history. I bought all of it of Ebay from 3 different people as well, not as a complete system.
It does play though? If you control the CD50 manually?
Peter
Yes it works perfectly from the front controls
