Please enjoy San Francisco! A fellow BeoWorlder just a few hour north! Stick out tongue

Just a few doors down, I believe there's a nice high end watch boutique as well. A great run of shops there by Union Square.

We just moved to Sydney from Denmark for a couple of years and we had most of our B&O gear shipped with container.

TV room at kitchen was in place as first thing. And Today the final part was mounted, our BS5 and BL4000. Danish/Nordic design in Australia :-)

Great to be settled now.

We don't have the ML in place and have to live without (rented house). But I still miss it though.

By the way. Lovely city and country Yes - thumbs up

Always when I see one of those Superbo's my first association is the "Hyperbo 5RG Steel". They are actually impossible to find or even to see.

Does anybody know if any of those are still around in private collections (apart of those few in the museums)?

Rudy, may I ask you: do you have it in your fabulous collection?

Hi All,

No, I don’t have a Hyperbo 5 RG steel in my collection.

Like most of the B&O collectors I’m hoping to find one .

The Hyperbo 5 RG steel is THE best kept secret .

Lot’s of rumors, …….

An original in Germany (?), Norway (?), Denmark (?)

THE question is, where to find one.

Both radio’s are not  in working condition.

The 5-lamps is a very early one (1929 ?), without serial number .

I’ll decided not to repair it and keep it in original condition.

The Superbo 37 didn’t have the original B&O tonearm.

Luckily I had a spare one.

The radio is powering up and the motor of the record player is working.

The tonearm needs a service.

Rudy

A forthcoming BeoSystem 5 TV is ultra thin, as a "wallpaper". It hangs on the wall via a
magnet plate. A new BeoLab Center with electrostatic technology, is as thin as the screen.

Should probably read:
IT is impossible to find, because - rumours aside -  many things suggests that cabinet parts for two or three sets were produced but only
one set was completed.

I've seen what could be a few cabinet parts but all complete sets I've seen were replicas and I'm sure, that if someone somewhere should
sit with the original set, I'm sure that some of the worlds most hardcore collectors - like Rudy - would have heard about it.

Well, I had trouble as well - and did not succeed in using photo upload services like Photobucket because the size got all wrong - and I`m probably still doing it wrong, but I go to Media in the top menu here, upload photos and access the photos from the "insert image" icon in the tool bar when you write your post. I have to switch to HTML mode and adjust the width of the pictures to 700px, though. Just trying to help, I suppose that someone has a better suggestion than this Smile

My friends are enjoying the Mark Knopfler concert in Oslo righ now, while I have to stay home on standby as we are expecting a baby any time now. I happen to be a Dire Straits fan born in the 80s, so I have something I suppose is not very common - a Dire Straits Blu-Ray, Alchemy Live. I put it on without engaging the projector screen, and I get something I find very cool: Kind of a Mark Knopfler 2D Hologram - as all the light is on him and the rest of the "screen estate" appears dark. Made my evening a little better Big Smile

P.S. It was kind of great also after the light moved to other places than just Mark, as the Blu-Ray is 4:3 it only overlapped with the BS9000 in a cool way. The distance between the 8000s is bigger than it seems, more than 3 meters, and the BS9000 is (relatively) closer to the right speaker than it seems.

Very interesting. This fact makes the Hyperbo 5RG probably the most desired B&O object for all B&O collectors. I didn't know that...

I saw few pictures on the internet and thought there are few of them around. Where is The ONE placed than actually? In the museum in Struer?

And what do you thing about this picture on the radiomuseum.org? Is it also only one of the replicas?

Nice picture, thanks.

I found old threads on the archived beoworld and according to them this one in Struer museum is also a replica. If I understood correct, the one and the only one Hyperbo 5RG Steel is supposed to be in Oslo's museum...

Anyway it was really timeless and unique design.

Here's a scan of and old B&O sales leaflet with a picture of the Hyperbo 5 Rg S.

Just have a look at the base and you will see the diference.

The cabinet in Oslo looks like the one on the leaflet.

Interesting Rudy,

Strange for them to have put it on promotional material and then not actually produce them. Is there anyone at B&O that would be able to actually shed some light on it?

Chris

The Hyperbo 5RG Steel looks great.

The round speaker should be more integrate with the steel plate and should be bigger for a better sound.

For the radio, I would change it for a Playmaker. I could stream my iPhone, iPad music.

Finally, it would work like a BeoPlay A9 with an integrated turntable. Big Smile

Why Bang & Olufsen don't reedit their classical design with a modern electronic.

I'm asking myself the same question and I even started a thread about it.

There are many different succes stories out there... Posrche 911, Harley Davidson Softtails/Sportsters, Zippo etc. Keep more or less the same design and integrate the new technologies.
