Actually it also does audio; https://wikidevi.com/wiki/Standard_Microsystems_CX870-3B
I'm actually quite curious about the 'hifi-ish' this card actually is?

It's a SOC (System on Chip), a memory and a network PHY, that is it! No fancy audio circuitry here! The module is 28$/1000pcs, and anyone can buy a development kit complete with software tools!
The Essense has diversity antennas on the motherboard but apart from that, the Essence hardware IS the module!
If you subtract the price of the Essence from the price of the Marantz...
@BEOVOX141
Make me one, that works with my NL network and has a port for an ir-eye, please!
How much?
35$?
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
BEOVOX141:that is it!
It definitly has a on-board DAC for line-level output, quality?. It also has spidf and other digital connections for external (B&O chosen) DAC. Did anyone find one in the Essence?
Developement kit's with SDK kost 10k and up — harldy available to all.
Love your house Aussie Michael, you have excellent color sense. Great combo of wall, floor, and fret color there.
Jeff
I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
Aussie Michael:Kvadrat cover in dusty rose
Duels:I like that Michael. What was it before? Dark grey?
Picture of my audio setup - BM6500, BC6500, BG6500 CD, BG6002, Revox B77, BL8000's and BL2 behind the chair. In the cupboard is a playmaker and wifi radio - all linked around the house
Aussie Michael:I have changed from the black to the light grey kvadrat , then to the dusty blue and now dusty rose. I think the light grey is the most successful.
Not quite sure why it isnt posted - I posted the same pictures in the Media section though. Sorry - must be my computer!
Thanks Michael - on the other side of the room is my desk with a picture of Nana Mouskouri in Warhole style above it! - I am just waiting for a new Beocom 6000 charging base to arrive and will post a picture
Aussie Michael:Looks great Andrew - love the integration of the PlayMaker. Also very happy to see Debbie :-)

Thank you Erik - yes I love the fact that I have just been able to add to the original system and the way old and new B&O equipment just blends in with any surroundings - timeless.
Our Beoworld colleague CliffT and his wife have relocated their home, and Cliff sent me these pictures to update you all on their new layout.
The first is the family BV7 (and Beosound) environment that has been optimised for Jo's usage.
The second and third pictures show Cliff's movie room in its dormant state, and then the activate state when the Avant is rotated to the optimal viewing position.

Michael:How is the cable hidden?

The cable goes into the wall and also carries the power. Cliff
Please click on Cliff's enlarged picture to a second browser window that minimises the view and shows a very neat cable management approach
The only floor-Stand Avant I've seen without a tail of cables leading to the socket. Very nice installation.
After 10y+ with my trusty BeoVision 3... time for something new... Brandnew BV14-40 oak :-) Will post more non-iPhone pix later.Or as they say in Denmark.. Oak is the new black :-)
Karel.
