@aussie michael, I still really like seeing how you use color in your home. You have an excellent eye for color and how to integrate it into your surroundings. I am more of the all white mid-century minimalist approach, which works well for me here but I do so appreciate color done well. The only place I have colored walls in my home are the master bedroom, which has a cherry colored wood (well, laminate) floor, a dark gray wall behind the cherry wood bed, and lighter gray on all of the other walls. It does make a nice, comfy, relaxing room, the color seems to aid in making it restful.

My Bedroom

Aussie Michael, this is a photo from my furniture maker's web site, he's a very talented craftsman, that shows the colors. He's made 6 pieces small and large for me so far, but the bed is the star of what he's done for me so far. Changes since then are the two non-B&O clocks are gone, replaced by two Beotimes, and the lamps have been changed for larger, barrel shaped paper lanterns that look much better and are easier to hide the wires behind them. Each cantilevered table has a dimmable LED light strip under it and a switch on the top, helps to have a night light when getting up at night. Each table also has, at the back of the shelf below it, a power outlet and an opening on the top of the table to let you run wires up through it without seeing them dangling all over the place. Can't see my Beolab 2000 in this view, it's on a teak chest of drawers to the right of the image.

@ Mr. Anderson - what a lovely setup.

@ Jeff - thanks for the picture. That surely is one beautiful bed. I stayed in a hotel recently where they had the night light switch but it was an led strip under the bed - so cool. Nothing worse when you're looking for a light and you're blinded when it's above your head.

@ Leo - Confused what are you making ? The H5 charging base looks a little different to mine. I see the cord wrapped up. From my H5 base there is a single cable coming out - yours looks bigger.

Hi earle,

Hey M,

I quite like it, actually. It suits my environment nicely... it fits the space, while also taking care of my movie and music needs. I would say it was a definite step up from my previous BL6000/BL4 surround setup. Although, I would have thought I would be getting a bit more bass from the sub. Don't get me wrong, it definitely hits when there is a solid 0.1 signal going on. However, during normal playback (like with music), I feel like bass-lines can 'feel' somewhat hidden at times (unless I play super-obvious tracks from Geof'f's playlists). I don't know, maybe I have my settings all out of whack? I'm not even entirely sure of my sub's position setting... I have it somewhere in between Corner and Wall,.. because, c'mon, the joining walls aren't at 90 degrees, so it could also be the room.

Anyway, back to the sound, I think the clarity is superb, the bass is tight (when I need it to be), and it's pleasing to the eye. I managed to score a good deal at my local shop, but the price was reasonable at the time anyway. I use it every day, and enjoy every second. So as far as I'm concerned, every box I had was checked off!

Hi folks!

About 6 months ago I decided to start upgrading my home entertainment systems. I started of replacing my old Technics SL-Q2 with a Beogram 3000 tangential tracking which I found online in fantastic shape, it had been tucked away in it's original box for the last 28 years. The design, the sound, the build quality amazed me and I was hooked! We had some B&O TV's growing up so I already had good feeling about B&O.

I'm not finished with the setup but I feel happy with it so far. Currently looking at integrating B&O IR-eye with Raspberry Pi (feel free to PM me if you got any experience in this area) and we'll see where we end up :-).

My setup so far is as follows:

Livingroom (zone 1):
B&O Beovox S45 (1983) - front
B&O Beolab 11 - sub
B&O Beovox CX100 - center
Boston Acoustics - surround
B&O Beogram 3000 tangential tracking
B&O Beocord 2000
Sony Bravia 65" curved 4k Android
Onkyo TX646 reciever

Terrace (zone 1):
M12 wireless speaker

Hallway (zone 2):
B&O Beovox CX50

Kitchen (zone 2):
B&O Beovox CX100

Office (zone 2):
B&O Beovox redline 60.2

Bedroom (zone 3):
B&O Time alarm clock (flute)
B&O Beoplay A6
Samsung 42" LED

Bedroom:

Livingroom:

Office:

Kitchen:

Thoughts?

After looking at all the beautiful setups/designs in this lovely thread the last months, I decided to make some photo's of my own setup in the living room (also have a nice BL6000 setup in the dining, but no photo's yet).

I have recently made my own 2.90 meter wide 'wall', including a 2 meter wide floating shelf, where I placed a Marantz receiver under (hanging).
The self made wall contains a wooden profile, crocodile leather look brown wallpaper, anodised aluminium strips all around, built in led strips, a bio-ethanol fireplace, etc.

Yesterday I received a B&O Playmaker and Beo4 remote. I'm going to test the functionalities and soundquality this weekend.
If I like it, I want to hang the PM completely under the shelf, so you can't see it at all (replacing the Marantz completely) (there are already some other items invisible under the shelf, like mains sockets, chromecast, etc.)

Tuttivini, what a chic set up. I love how the thin bezel on your TV looks with the wall paper.

What a smart idea too to install the marantz receiver underneath the shelf. Very good thinking.

@ Piaf, paolomarinao, alex_112, Aussi Michael, Razlaw, Hiort and Simonbeo: Thanks for all the compliments!
So nice to read compliments like 'sleek', 'tasteful', 'stunning'. 'chic', 'nicely done', etc.

Last Sunday I removed the Marantz receiver, because I like my (this weekend tested) B&O Playmaker very much and it does everything I need.
The Playmaker will be installed under the floating shelf, out of sight. So the wall and shelf  will look more minimalistic/clean.
