Don't misunderstand, I SHARE your frustration, especially after taking the time to carefully craft a response.
Unless my response is a single sentence, I routinely copy it, and to date, 4 attempts is the worse. Usually it goes through on the second try. I shouldn't be this way, and I am sure it doesn't have to be.
And yes, I am going to copy this message.

I understand totally, but it is such a shame that others do not get all the great suggestions and so on you are giving out :(
Hopefully these issues will get fixed. It has been over a week at least, since my last post has failed, so it is very strange why some people are experiencing lots of problems, and others almost none..

Just as a second suggestion, you can also compose your always helpful responses in "Word" them copy your work on to this site. If you compose using the BeoWorld site and copy your work, you are stuck until the site accepts it, whereas if you save it in "Word" (or similar program) you have it indefinitely. Also you aviod the very annoying double space the site offers.
I notice you started working with computers in 1982. Small world, I started in 1980 with a NCR Mini-Mainframe using IMOS-3. Yiks, do I feel dated!
Hi Jeff - I started in 1984 I think with anIBM4381 running Jes2 and CICS, that was replaced by a 3090 in a lead lined room! we also had DEC and HP - the HP was old then and you had to flick switches in a certain sequence to boot it up!

First "modern" machine was in 1975, a DEC PDP-11, followed by an IBM 360/75 with a huge 7.5 megabytes of RAM! And yes, I'm old enough to have programed machines by setting the words using up/down toggle switches for 1s and 0s and hitting load to push the word into memory, then repeating. I think one of the beginnings of dumbing down people was when PCs got advanced enough you bought all your programs, and they removed even a BASIC interpreter off of all computers, so you not only didn't have to learn to program to do anything, you couldn't even play around with programming. Even if the mass of people weren't good programmers, they learned a bit about it and logic.

I believe I have given you the wrong impression as I am not now, nor ever have been a computer programmer.
Instead; I was once in a very interesting position; being on the committee to choose a company computer. We talked with IBM, Burroughs, and NCR. (I still have the Parker pen with the Burroughs logo on it gifted me by the Burroughs salesman on my present computer desk.)
I digress, as I have a “cute” story you might find interesting; well hopefully.
The computer purchase was in every aspect a really big deal. We needed a specially designed room with incredible air-conditioning and electrical capacity. Staff had to be hired and trained for this totally new endeavor, and a department manager named.
This is where things get interesting. The person in change; how can I put this? Well let’s say she had less than a sunny personality….. also hyper, manic, and obsessive.
Months went by between the order and delivery dates and in all that time; training was a 9 to 5 affair.
When the “big day” finally arrived it was exciting, a major installation and all that went with it. I was truly interested in every aspect and went around asking questions of all the installation techs on “how” and “why” things were done.
Now picture this, after spending a zillion dollars for this new computer system, peripheral terminals, and one enormous line printer, waiting months and months for delivery, the new head of this department was so stressed, so exhausted that she had to go home to lie down mid-day.
An opportunity like that would never come again. Keep in mind, I asked a LOT of questions, but I spread those questions around not wanting to over-stay my welcome with any one tech.
A brand new computer and I had it all to myself. First I had to insert the cassette drive to start-up the system. Then there was a security code which I had memorized, and the memory had to be partitioned.
I knew they were going to have practice sessions for an entire week, so it didn’t matter what info I put in the computer. I was a smart aleck kid handed “the keys to a new car,” and I got creative. I entered all sorts of inventory but when it came to “status” I put in things like “Stolen” and listed the new computer manager as the culprit. And I waited…..
The next day was the official first day of operation and every company official that would fit in the room was there. I honestly and to some extent innocently wanted to help and was brushed off VERY publically with, “You don’t know anything, you leave this to me.”
Really? Is that so? Now this woman was really on a tear, center stage, showing all she had learned about this new computer. Everyone had their eyes glued to this impromptu presentation leaving me unnoticed at a terminal.
This early NCR mini-mainframe could only handle one query at a time and I knew that….. so with everyone in the room watching for the first ever search demonstration, I fielded a search inquiry. The computer manager was SO excited, “And with one press of the button,” the anticipation was intoxicating…… “DENIGHED”
How embarrassing. Repeated attempts produced the identical result: DENIGHED. Finally I couldn’t keep a straight face any longer and broke out in laughter. Every eye in the room turned to me, so I ended the query and the manager’s request produced the expected results.
About an hour later I hear the screams “JEFFREY” from across the hall…… I think the computer manager had found the “stolen” status. I done good.
Of course this was a childish, immature, and even petty thing to have done… but there were so many reasons why this was “so called for,” that I believe Gandhi himself would have forgiven me.
In any case, I hope you found this missive amusing.

Hi KMA, very nice posts and really love your attention to detail to the overall design incorporated in your home with the various products. It seems we are thinking along similar lines as I too have been waiting some time for the right TV to come out that ticks many boxes from B&O and I am hoping the Eclipse is it. I am yet to decide how to display it and have looked at all the mounting possibilities. I am curious why you have decided to change from your very neat wall mount option to a floor stand? At first I thought your last picture was of the recently released Samsung frame TV! I see though that you are using a picture frame around the LG, which is neat and looks great, although the sound bar kind of gives it away a bit!!! How are you displaying the picture in the frame?
B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

VERY REAL! I completely bought into it at first sight! I like your reasoning for the floor stand, I'd like the B&O magic too and I am also drawn to the floor stand, but more so for hiding the Sky/Virgin box on the back with an STB bracket hopefully. Are there any tiny 4K players available yet that would also fit nicely on the back?

Cool, I'll look out for that, thanks for the info. I have also just been googling and apparently there is a new Xbox One X console due for release in November so depending on size, that might be a 4K option. I am not a gamer but if its good enough for playing native 4K content then I might get it.

Might not have quite the same effect though with a long black speaker going across the bottom half of the frame!!! lol

CB:A new pal arrived today I was a little bit worried about the command panel, but it is working correctly, as the SD card reader, the antenna and all the functions The power cable (low voltage side) needs to be changes, and the battery too.

New living room with a temporary solution, until I make the Eclipse vs Avant decision which will be mounted over the fireplace. I still enjoy the Beovision 7, though. But, I think a Beolab 19 would look better sitting there...

I agree with Duels. Better to move the fireplace up and have the TV at (seated) eye level! The B&O floor stands are designed that way for a reason

The B&O floor stands are designed that way for a reason The eclipse will unfortunately sit too high above your fireplace but maybe i am biased because i always think any TV above the fireplace is not as good as being at eye level. Grab the spec guide as it shows the sizes and mark it out with masking tape and see - maybe i am wrong I can see why so many people love it though because it looks beautiful above the fireplace
