priklep:

Dear Beoworlders,

this is my input to B&O photos from around the world. X-max present for my wife (renovated wooden chair from 1971) nad Beovox 45-2 in our living room (connected to Beomaster 4400).

Nice X-mas for everybody.

Very nice vintage items! Unfortunately we don't see how the BM4400 matches the rest of your interior  Big Smile

Happy Christmas to you too!

so, now it´s back home, waiting as an eyecatcher for the next commitment outside. kind of sad that there is no use at home for it; it´s a flabbergastingly stunning speaker!!! and i really like it in tangerine red as well as i do like it in the new violet. if thumbs weren´t too short i would start a little collection, lol.

Today we finished hiding the cabling of our newly set up home cinema (kids' room).

We already had a Beovision 4-50 with Beosystem 3. Knowing about the projector out I had the idea of setting up a home Cinema for a while. Finally agreed on this christmas gift for the family last year ;-)

Ouch! Very sorry to hear that egges. Almost 20 years ago I shattered my right elbow, had reconstructive surgery. The physical therapy was tough, but by doing it religiously I got pretty much the full range of motion back, so stick with any therapy. It can be hard, but worth the effort. Yesterday I started playing around with my setup and took a while.

Before I had BL19 in the corner and the BL18 as rear speakers and using the Avant speakers as my left centre and right channels.

I now have my BL18s as front speakers, have moved the BL19 out from the corner and now have moved my BL3 from the other room to become the rear speakers with the receiver 1 for each of the BL3 (WISA)

That means I now have an essence and an IR eye that I’m not using. I don’t think there is a way I can use the BL3 with the essence AND the receiver 1?

Here are the updated pics which I am happy with the setup and sound.

If someone showed me this layout in the abstract (corner positions, room connection, nearby wall reflections), I would be quite surprised that it sounded decent at all! Guess it's a testament to the radiation pattern of the acoustic lens. Your choice to swap the 18's to the front L/R makes good sense to me, as does moving the 19 out of the corner. Sorry I cannot help with your question, but I wanted to post to say I *love* your matching polished aluminum "BeoLamps" -- it's as if Ross Lovegrove had waltzed through the room, waved his hands and done a Uri Geller, bending the lamps to his wishes! (Now there would be a worthy successor to David Lewis; imagine what the BL50 *could* have looked like...)

Assuming that your Essence is a 2nd Gen, just connect that to your network somewhere, where it fits (preferedly hardwired)

and set it up as an integrated device of the Avant.

This way you can reach it directly via the Avant/the X-app.

Look here for inspiration:

http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/28374/223554.aspx

If you fancy that - you could connect a turntable to the line in and play vinyl on your Avant setup.

You could also place it somewhere else in the house and connect an S3 (as an example) to it to play music - in a hall or a guestroom.

Plug the ir-eye in to it for convenience.

When you then connect it to the Avant, you can reach the (some of) its sources from there.

I wish you happy playing.....and playing music ;-)

P.S. If not already done, you really should make a Speakers Group with the two BL3’s by that chair.

Sitting there listening to music will be like having giant headphones ;-)))

Sitting there listening to music will be like having giant headphones ;-)))

Finally got my aluminium front today.

It’s great to have the black fabric in case I change my mind some day. But what do you think?

Fabric cover or aluminium? Which is the best looking?

Aluminium looks fantastic, especially as you have white speaker cloth on the BL5s.
