Beosound 5 MKII
It’s my latest DIY project where I actually combined an Essence remote with an IPad 2020. I also created the stand myself.
Lovely and impressive, BeoJosh.
In your office (the room with the Mac and the Eames recliner) there’s a full-wall bookshelf system. Can you tell me the name/contact info of that system? I’m looking for just such a system. Thanks.
Lost in the site crash, @BeoJosh's comment that he kept the local Design Within Reach and B&O stores in business when downsizing. So whatever you are looking at, it will be at dwr.com (well, except for the Edison cylinder and the Smith-Corona, of course:-).
In this case, those are several "String" floor bases and stacks of their shelving system. In the USA, DWR is having a 15% off sale at the moment, but if you're in the EU, you should be able to get substantially better pricing because the designers, the Strinnings, were from Sweden and it is now manufactured there by stringfurniture.com.
Please don't shoot me, but I think it looks a little too nomadic / some-assembly-required. It has a certain transparency, yes, but bear in mind that it was designed based on bent-wire dish racks originally! See stringfurniture.com/story . Contrast the heft of Pablo's "Elise" lamps at the ends of the shelves, which I really like. (ooh, lamps!)
P.S. Speaking of "Lovely and impressive", @Del16 that is a really excellent DIY! Presumably the iPad is in a plastic case so it can be glued/bolted to the Nessen lamp base? (ooh, lamps!) You don't really need the home button for continuous dedicated music-remote-control use, do you? So flipping the pad so the button is hidden by the Essence wheelie would look more custom, maybe? Wish I were handy, I'd do that for a Senic Nuimo and the Sonos app, maybe an iPad Mini to look closer to BS5 screen size. C'mon, don't be a prude, post us a photo from underneath/behind! "Enquiring minds want to know..."
Those are String shelves, which were designed by Nils Strinning in the 1940s for a competition sponsored by Carlsen publishing house in Sweden. We really like them but they were a PITA to install, at least with high floor moldings.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Thanks, Beojosh and trackbeo. Here in the U.S. I've been looking at the Rakks system; they feature a similar transparency/weightlessness. Even more so, perhaps. I see these systems of this kind as a good match for B&O minimalism.

Those look great. Thanks for pointing Rakks out. That could be a good solution for me for our library for when I run out of vinyl storage space and I haven't been able to find the right solution for there previously.

No worries--to each their own. For us, it was a good compromise that my wife and I could agree on. It definitely had assembly required, especially to cut out notches in the baseboards so they would sit flush! And as for being nomadic, that was intentional. After having to leave lots of built-ins and expensive integrated electronics at our old home, we purposefully made sure almost everything we installed could come with us should we move in the future.
@Beosince98 So classic, love it.
@Del16 Very cool. Wish I were as handy as you are!

First of all my advice to you is to use a good bonding glue. Secondly be prepared to write off an IPad if you make any mistakes.
Also pictured in my photos are my modified Beolab 6000’s sitting on top of 20mm thick steel platforms to help bolster the bass, and also allow for the use of thicker mains cables and interconnects. I have also included a photo of my other system built around Beolab 1 speakers and Beosound 3000 unit.
Minimal vinyl storage? Hmm, couldn't resist: canvas & birch plywood, Danish (of course), from "Nomadic Furniture 2", by Hennessey & Papanek:

Beosound Stage
Previously I had the TV on a Beovision 7-32 stand with a Beolab 7-1 and Beolab 2 with a Sonos Amp, this is much cleaner and sounds just as great in my opinion.
Currently have a Beosound 9000 as a DIY project which will soon be joining this with a Beolink NL/ML Converter.
Finally had some time to re-use my old BeoVision 7-40 stand.
We sold the BeoVision 10 and wanted just a Sony 4K TV with VESA adapter from oneremote.dk plus cable into a Beolab 7-2, at the beginning.
Then we decided to go for 3.0/3.1 setup and got a Beosystem 3, a Lintronic box and Masterlink connection to Beosound 9000 (not on the photo).
This is what we realised:
The subwoofer is only temporarily set up, so please ignore the cable...

As I am supposed to be moving house soon I had to rig up a temporary TV to watch last night's Mexican Grand Prix. I made use of an LG TV that my son had asked me to take to the recycling centre for him because it 'didn't work'.
The TV's appalling sound quality prompted me to set up a 'stereo pair' of A2 Actives which worked very well using Bluetooth from the Apple TV. Sadly the race itself was a little boring!
Excellent!
Did you show your son this ‘working setup’?
