Thanks a lot!

Unfortunately it is only SÅNGEN, a lamp from IKEA ;-) But I like the Scandinavian design.

Ah, thanks, I looked it up, very stylish. I have an Ikea lamp, not sure they even make it still, a round, larger on top white thing, can't recall the name. Jonisk! Looked it up. I like simple Scandanavian modern as well, we have discussed some of this in the Minimalism thread.

Beautiful setup. Is that a radiator to the left of the TV? And what is the cylindrical glass thing on the right?

Very clean installation!

Hi Jeff, thank you!

Yes, that´s a radiator. It´s the Jaga Iguana Arco.

The cylindrical glass thing is an ethanol fireplace from the german company Auerhahn. Its a really good thing, and makes comfortably warm in the cold cold germany :-)

Very stylish radiator. I know what they are but have never lived anywhere that had one, at least not since I was a little child. I guess we did as I lived in Germany when I was 3-4 yrs old, my father was stationed there in the US Air Force. Not too many in Florida where I grew up. Smile

I've seen several ethanol fireplaces, most of which are all stunningly modern, but that's the first one like that I've seen. It's beautiful, I bet it's gorgeous when lit. In the house I have now we have a gas fireplace run off the cooking gas lines. It's a large open hearth, fairly minimal with a bed of rocks instead of fake logs. It even has a remote control, and looks wonderful when lit. If we didn't have that I would have invested in an ethanol one, my wife loves her fireplace.

Jeff, the ethanol one it´s really beautiful. It´s a neat solution, you have a real flame without much working before and after....

I will send a picture when it burns! But my Ethanol is out :-)  My order was until March, who knew that it will sooo cold until this day  hehehe

It's been a pretty cold winter her in Georgia, USA too, but not nearly as cold as it gets in Germany! My gas bill went up by a factor of three plus after the gas fireplace was installed! But it looks great and makes the wife happy, which pretty much means everyone is happy. Big Smile

Plus to have one it'd have to be either ethanol or gas, I'm pretty allergic to wood smoke.

The look of the ethanol one you have, the glass and aluminum, matches particularly well with the B&O look. I also love the fact you can sit on all sides of it, I can see having friends over and sitting with it in the roughly center of an area so everyone can watch the fire. Fire watching is always popular, something almost hypnotic about the flickering flames.

Yesterday my new 11-40 arrived. Got a good trading deal with my 8-40 at my preferred dealer here in Aarhus, Denmark. I am very pleased by the way it sits in the room on the easel stand. It just looks more like a B&O product compared to the 8-40.

A quick picture taken with my phone of a room I just redecorated. Speakers were all blue before. Still need to change rear speakers. There is a picture earlier in this thread of the room the first time it was repainted about a month ago with the speakers still blue. The paint colors did not work so had to have repainted for a second time in a month.

Thanks for that Beofan53 Smile

I'm proud of having done all myself and all is working as it should.

I have done in-wall cabling with CAT.7 cables. Powerlink to RJ45 cables are supplied by Steve of Sounds Heavenly. All other cabling, like Masterlink to RJ45,A.Aux to RJ45 and Scart to RJ45 is selfmade.

The wall behind the TV to hide all cables from and to the TV is selfmade too.

Cat 7 is very good. I have used cat6 to ML to my linkrooms. I had already cat6 in the house when this was built. There was no room for extra ML-cable, so I used cat6 cabling. Besides this I use a dedicated switch, so there is no conflict with Internet based routers. I only use this solution for audio and it works very well. From my dealer I ordered ML to RJ45 plugs. Two times a BL2000 (bathroom and hobbyroom) and a BL3500 in my office. For a bedroom I use BL Wireless 1 in combination with a BV6. Still using on other places in the house the old MCL, but works well.

What do you mean by dedicated switch ? I only know ethernet switches.

I have one BV6-22 in the bedroom and another one in the dining room, but both are stand alone, not masterlinked.

Here's a quick shot of where all masterlink, powerlink and ethernet cables comes together - the 10 inch network rack Big Smile

I used ordinary CAT.6a patch cables to make the connections. The cables run in small boxes (behind the patch panels) like the B&O junction boxes to make the needed connections.

On the upper patch panel you will find masterlink (blue) and powerlink (red). On the lower panel there are all ethernet connections (yellow).

On the bottom of the closet is the gigabit ethernet switch, which will be mounted in the rack soon.

I love seeing these setups, very inspiring!

@Razlaw, the white 9s turned out perfect in your setup! How cumbersome is it to do the cover replacement?
@Frederik, your setup really looks good with the BV11. The BV8 is a beauty, but the BV11 just blends in to a living room so much better.
@Beoice, your setup is sleek, but a bit cold for my taste. Do you plan on putting stuff on the walls? How are the acoustics in the room?

Under the system you have the white base: did you build that yourself or had it made (or is it a B&o merchandising thing)? Really makes the system stand out!

A dedicated switch looks the same as your rack, but with a dedicated switch it is possible to have the same bandwidth on each port. Normal switches devide the bandwidth to the amount of available and connected ports. With a dedicated switch you have the same bandwidth on every used port.

Not a cheap solution, but it was a gift from a company who changed his infrastructure.

I must say I cannot "hear" any difference.

Your rack is also very professional and will give you lots of connectivities.
