Beolab 5 digital in and Essence remote?

Is it possible to use the Essence remote (wheely) to control Beolab 5 speaker which are connected to a digital source via SPIF ?

So instead of a Beo4 use the Essence remote to switch the BeoLab 5 on/off and control the volume?

That is good news.

Now I have to figure out how best to connect my Mac Mini digital to the BL5.

And I need a sync cable I assume between the BL5.

Maybe somebody has this set up already running?

BL5 controlled via Essence Remote.

You use a converter optical to coax digital converter.

MacOS automatically locks the volume level to the highest setting.

Then control the volume of the BL5's with a Beo4 (or the 'wheely' in ir mode).
