Hello fellow B&O lovers,

I have a strange problem. My beomaster 5500 sometimes starts without my doing. It' looks like there is a tiny DJ inside my equipment ;). It is always random.

Can anyone direct me for a solution?

Hi

Are you sure it is really random? I suggest to write down time and starting source whenever the BM5500 starts because of the tiny DJ at least for some weeks. My suggestions are:

  • Programmed timers (by mistake or by previous owners), you need a MCP5500 or BL5000 to check
  • Sometimes our neighbours also have B&O remotes which are well known for their long distance impact, check by closing the blinds
  • One of your own remotes or MCP is running crazy, check by hiding in closed box
  • Bad cabling of Multiroom-system, check by disconnecting Multiroom
  • BM5500 problem, search for tiny DJ will be difficult

Good luck

David

Thanks for your options.

  • Programmed timers (by mistake or by previous owners), you need a MCP5500 or BL5000 to check. This was checked
  • Sometimes our neighbours also have B&O remotes which are well known for their long distance impact, check by closing the blinds. Blinds were closed for 2 weeks and the beomaster 5500 was turned off, during my holliday. I came back and the beomaster 5500 was on.
  • One of your own remotes or MCP is running crazy, check by hiding in closed box. I will do.
  • Bad cabling of Multiroom-system, check by disconnecting Multiroo. Not present
  • BM5500 problem, search for tiny DJ will be difficult. I know ;(

Low energy light bulbs can trigger remote commands up to a minute after being switched on. I have this trouble with my Beocenter 7002.  Have you covered the sensor to eliminate external causes?
