Hi all,
yesterday I received the SW 3.42a Upgrade IC I ordered from my dealer for my BS9000 MK3.
After reading the service manual I am a little bit confused. It looks like BS9000 has to be disassembled completly to install the little chip.
Is this true or is there a more easy way to install the upgrade chip.
Any help or a short description what to do excactly would be well appreciated.
Regards
Martin

Martin if you look in the Media section (from the main menu) you will find some pictures of the BS9000 published by Keith that indicate that you indeed need to open up the whole unit to replace the s/w chip.

If you were upgrading from the previous version 3.3 then it would only be an advantage if you were using a Masterlink Gateway using options 5 or 6

The job should take no more than 1 hour even allowing for your "virgin" status.
Remember to take the appropriate anti-static precautions!!

Thanks for all your answers.
My "virgin" status results from loosing my post count from the old forum. I already asked Keith to set the counter back to the value I had before.
I ordered an appropriate anti-static mat with wrist band to do the job the right way.

That was a comment on your experience with fitting the chip, not your experience on BeoWorld!
Ok, understand
