Hi all,
I have a BEOMASTER 1700, the Stereo light is out, can this be change and if so what do I need to do?
All help welcome, and please be gentle as I am a newbie.
Keith.
I'm in the middle of trying to look at an old Onkyo tuner (T-9) which displays the same symptom. First thing you have to determine is whether of not the FM radio is actually giving you stereo, not that easy with a lot of the over processed crap you find on FM these days. The problem could be either the stereo light is burned out, or there's something wrong with the FM decoder circuitry.
Tune to a strong station and listen using headphones, you should be able to tell quickly, mono on headphones sounds like its in the center of your head. If the receiver has a stereo/mono switch, switch it in and out and listen for stereo.
Once you troubleshoot it a bit further someone who knows this unit shouldbe able to help you more.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
Hi Jeff,
I did the Stereo/Mono test with headphones on and all works well, It's just the light that's out.
So i need to know what LED, and how to change it?
Which version of the Beomaster 1700 do you have ?
Martin
Those are not LEDs but real miniature bulbs in sockets.Different wattage lamps are used for the red tuning discriminators and the green stereo indicator.I have the correct ones if you can't find them elsewhere.
Hi Martin,
Is it easy to get at the bulb and bulb holder?
I have just got the buld out, if you do have a spare buld let me know what the cost plus P&P will be.
On the bulb it says OSRAM 12-15/1.
You have an email.
