I need like 3 more feet for my BeoGram 3000 Record Deck to reach the Beomaster 3000 receiver. I don't want to cut the cords and solder for extension. Is there a female 7-PIN to male 7-PIN connection out there that will work for that application? I don't seem to be finding any online.
The cable is double-shielded and extending it is generally not recommended due to the signal level and the amountof amplification that follows.I know of no 7-pin DIN extension cables, but the extension needs to have both shields too - separate like in the original cable.

There is - or maybe there were.
I am using one with my BeoGram 4500, but I am not sure that you can buy these (new) anymore.
And then there is the socalled ' cigar-solution' - a small female/female coupler to add another male/male cable.
Not sure that you can get hold of that one either.
Why not ask Steve at SoundsHeavenly for help!

You can do it with your BG 4500, Millemissen, because it has build-in RIAA amp. The problem with the BG 3000 is, that it does not have RIAA - so the signal is much weaker, and it can cause some problems if you extend the cable.
I tried using an extender cable once and had hardly any sound - only way is to use a preamp on the turntable and then run a lead - but that would mean not being able to use the Phono input on the beomaster and no remote control (unless you get Steve to make a lead up)
Just re-read the post 3 foot should be ok to extend - I would ask Steve.
Hi,
Yes, I will be pleased to build Beogram extension cables with the correct shielding. For earlier Beograms like the 3000 which don't have a built in pre-amp, then I would always suggest trying to avoid the need for an extension if possible, or alternatively considering using an external pre-amp near to the Beogram if a long extension cannot be avoided. However, short extension cables don't usually give any loss of sound quality when properly constructed.
For later Beograms like the 4500 that have a pre-amp built in, you can safely extend the cable up to 20 metres without any issues. However, correctly shielded cable should still be used, standard 7 pin DIN Aux cables or 8 pin Powerlink cables are not usually double shielded for use with Beogram turntables.

Kind regards, Steve.
