The BeoSound 5 must be set to audio master in the settings in order to access the aux input of the BeoSound 5. You can only have one audio master in a master link system. Maybe you have both the BeoSound 5 and the BeoCenter 2 connected to the ML and have the BeoCenter 2 set as audio master instead of the BeoSound 5?

Ok on the back of the back of the beomaster box is 3 phono sockets 1vidio & 2 audio , like bc2, so I've plugged into them then select aux . But nothing coming out , everything els is perfect , sorry not the video just audio .

The phono sockets on the back of the BeoMaster 5 are not audio inputs. You need to purchase an adaptor to use the USB input. You can purchase this device made by Behringer U-CONTROL UCA 222.

I have been trying to find mine but its somewhere lost in the house lol...

Installed one yesterday (along with a Playmaker).

That definitely works - and it is also the official recommendation from B&O.

Please note, that if you intend to connect the audio of a tv this way, you will probably run into sync problems due to rhe processing of the sound in the connection chain.

Hi MM,

Yes, you are quite correct, the Beomaster 5 processing causes a delay to sound that comes in through the USB input, which will cause lip-sync issues if you try to connect a non-B&O TV this way.

The only solution to this is to buy a Beolink Converter from Bang & Olufsen (type 1161166) and connect this to the Beomaster 5 with a Masterlink cable: http://soundsheavenly.com/48-masterlink-control-and-sync

You can  connect the headphone output of the TV into the B&O converter with this cable:-

http://soundsheavenly.com/bang-olufsen/67--trs-5pd-.html

You can then listen to the TV through the Beomaster 5 without an audio delay by pressing “TV” on your B&O remote control.

Kind regards, Steve.

Steve.

Steve you have just solved my ultimate problem for non B&O TVs! Thank you!!!

But now that the 1161166 converter uses the Masterlink slot from the audio system, how can I incorporate this converter into a whole masterlink for that 1 specific non B&O TV? Can I just patch the 1161166 converter into the RJ45 Masterlink patch like below?

Hi Kiran,

Glad to hear that is helpful! Cool

Yes, as long as there are no other B&O TVs on that network, you can simply patch the Converter into the ML distribution box and link the non-B&O TV to the Converter.  Any video button on your B&O remote will then trigger Converter to play sound from the non-B&O TV via ML.

If you have other B&O TVs on the same ML network, then some planning will be needed in terms of option settings, otherwise you could activate every TV each time you select a video source......

Kind regards, Steve.

Thank you Steve! This really has helped me a lot.

In the main house, all upstairs bedrooms currently have B&O audio systems but Samsung TVs. I plan on replacing these really slowly but what you have confirmed will help so much with current full integration 👍🏻💯🔥

Especially with my bedroom setup... I really like my Samsung 60...

Can someone please explain the difference between the UFO-202 and the UFO-222.

I have the UFO-202. But there is also a UFO-222 available with the same connections.

Both say ultra low latency...

Hi,

I prefer to use the Behringer UFO202, as this also has a switchable phono pre-amp fitted.

Kind regards, Steve.

Yes Kiran , both work with my bc2 , my century and beomaster 7000, they just don't like the bs5 for some reason , they will turn it of some times or switch to cd but as quick as they work they stop , very puzzled indeed .

Hi,

Is there a plasma TV in the bedroom?  These can interfere with B&O remotes.

Hi,

Thanks for this, the OLED TV won't be a problem.

Yes, I have the upgraded UFO202 version (the same as UCA222 but with a switchable phono pre-amp fitted) here:-
