Hi to you all , ok first post , I've just got a Beosound 5 all good apart from 2 things , the first one is my beo 4 will work but intermittently most of the time it's a no no . I have 2 beo4s ,one works the beocentre 2 which is all fine , and is with the TV in the living room and is plugged into the bc 2 phono inputs and that works fine , but upstairs where the bs 5 is,Ive plugged the phono in the bs5 and select aux nothing is coming out , am I missing something here , I tried other things blue tooth also iPad but nothing , any help would be grateful it's a great system just has a few things to sort out thanks Peter
The BeoSound 5 must be set to audio master in the settings in order to access the aux input of the BeoSound 5. You can only have one audio master in a master link system. Maybe you have both the BeoSound 5 and the BeoCenter 2 connected to the ML and have the BeoCenter 2 set as audio master instead of the BeoSound 5?
Many thanks thanks for the info , bs5 is set to audio master also both systems are stand alone not in a ml set up . Thank you .
Thanks for the info , bs5 is set to audio master also it's not in a ml set to bc2 regards Peter .
Sorry what doyou mean by 'plugged the phono in the bs5'?
What have you plugged in and where???
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
Ok on the back of the back of the beomaster box is 3 phono sockets 1vidio & 2 audio , like bc2, so I've plugged into them then select aux . But nothing coming out , everything els is perfect , sorry not the video just audio .
The phono sockets on the back of the BeoMaster 5 are not audio inputs. You need to purchase an adaptor to use the USB input. You can purchase this device made by Behringer U-CONTROL UCA 222.

Installed one yesterday (along with a Playmaker).
That definitely works - and it is also the official recommendation from B&O.

Please note, that if you intend to connect the audio of a tv this way, you will probably run into sync problems due to rhe processing of the sound in the connection chain.

Hi MM,
Yes, you are quite correct, the Beomaster 5 processing causes a delay to sound that comes in through the USB input, which will cause lip-sync issues if you try to connect a non-B&O TV this way.
The only solution to this is to buy a Beolink Converter from Bang & Olufsen (type 1161166) and connect this to the Beomaster 5 with a Masterlink cable: http://soundsheavenly.com/48-masterlink-control-and-sync
You can connect the headphone output of the TV into the B&O converter with this cable:-

You can then listen to the TV through the Beomaster 5 without an audio delay by pressing “TV” on your B&O remote control.
Kind regards, Steve.

Hi Kiran,
Glad to hear that is helpful!
Yes, as long as there are no other B&O TVs on that network, you can simply patch the Converter into the ML distribution box and link the non-B&O TV to the Converter. Any video button on your B&O remote will then trigger Converter to play sound from the non-B&O TV via ML.
If you have other B&O TVs on the same ML network, then some planning will be needed in terms of option settings, otherwise you could activate every TV each time you select a video source......

The colour!
Hi,
I prefer to use the Behringer UFO202, as this also has a switchable phono pre-amp fitted.
Millemissen:The colour!
To all the help you guys gave thanks so much . I still have a problem with my beo 4 , it will not work the bs5 ,oh it works some times but most of the time it's a no no , I've used a second beo 4 still no good any help again guys , thanks Peter
Yes Kiran , both work with my bc2 , my century and beomaster 7000, they just don't like the bs5 for some reason , they will turn it of some times or switch to cd but as quick as they work they stop , very puzzled indeed .
Damm , OK Kiran it's not the end of the world , it's set up in the main bedroom so just have to control it from the head unit , the guy I got it from really looked arfter is as its mint even the bm5 not one mark on any of them both , thank though .
No , just bs5 .
Is there a plasma TV in the bedroom? These can interfere with B&O remotes.
No Sony oled , also shut everything down even moved the bs5 still nothing , think I'll just have to use it from the head unit .
oh also been let down with the Behringer UCA 222 did someone say you sell them Steve ?
Thanks for this, the OLED TV won't be a problem.
Yes, I have the upgraded UFO202 version (the same as UCA222 but with a switchable phono pre-amp fitted) here:-
